RAC Breakdown cover

Post by alan57 » Mon Jul 30, 2018 9:13 pm

Hi everyone this is just a heads up about my RAC recovery quote !
After being with them since 2010 they decided to treat me to an increase in premium to £174.00.
After calling them to express my disgust and cancel my membership they offered to reduce my premium to £99.00 for 15 months Home start and recovery to include me and my partner!!!
They are now forgiven.............for 15 months!!!!!

That's quite a discount for one phone call.

Sadly they all seem to try a huge price hike these days. [-X

I've just changed from RAC to GEM as they only say they 'may' provide recovery if the only driver is ill. This cover is important as Mrs B doesn't drive so we need to know. I just can't see them sorting it with this wording in the policy docs. :?

I recently (last year) changed from RAC (about 20 years) to GEM because of the price hike and after a phone call the discount they offered was not sufficient!
