DIY tailgate curtain

Post by sotal » Sun Jun 24, 2018 10:20 pm

Has anyone made a rear curtain to fit the factory fitted rails on the tailgate?

We have the rails but no curtains. I don't fancy buying the original ones. As they don't seem to look too great after 20 years!

Just after any advice.

Such as what sort of things to buy to fit in the rails and how best to attach.

We currently use a silver screen but it is forever falling off.

I made excellent curtains using two pieces of grey velvet suitably sewed up so they could run top and bottom along net curtain wire, which was mounted by hooking the ends of the net curtain wire to the ends of the original rails. The ends are held to the tailgate metalwork with velcro pads to give excellent blackout. Work much better than original curtains IMHO and cost a fiver! Now 11 years old and going strong.
