Curtains!

Post by Markas » Mon Apr 30, 2018 7:28 pm

Have bought a pair of original rear curtains and rails on ebay.
Could some kind member please provide a pic to show the location of the rails before I start drilling holes in the tailgate!
I think I see where the lower rail goes, as one of the pics in the listing showed this quite clearly. It's the upper one I don't get, as there doesn't seem to be a long enough flat run of metal anywhere above the rear window.
Also if anyone can tell me the diameter drill I need to use that would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance!

They were, but the vendor dropped the price by a tenner so I snapped them up! I just prefer the idea of having matching curtain and blind fabric all round - it's an OCD thing!!
Was camping on site at the weekend with the back of the van facing woodland so just did without the rear 'silver screen'. Didn't wake till 8.30am so don't think the fact that the original style fabric's a bit thin will disturb my slumbers

Just taken some pics but I've never managed to post images on here, so if you PM me your e mail I'll forward them.

Basicaly the top one runs almost parallel with the trim at the top of the glass, about 3/4" from it at each end and 1 1/8" in the centre.

The screws are small self tapping coutersunk, but (of course) may not be original, so I'd start with a drill no more than about 2mm.

Hope that helps.

Bob,

I too have sourced some OEM front and rear curtains from Bongo Spares for my new van and would also love some pics to ensure I fit them properly.

If I PM you my address, could you please fire those photos over my way if you still have them handy?

Or can someone post them in here?

Many thanks,
Steven

Happy to do it if I can find them, if not I'll just take some more. 8)
