Clean Air Zones

Post by Ian » Thu Dec 07, 2017 11:05 am

Leeds has become the second city (after London) to introduce a clean air zone. This will be within the outer ring road and will apply to HGVs, taxis and buses. But it will not apply to private vehicles. Not yet anyway.

Which is good news for Bongo owners. But bad news for asthmatics

Birmingham, Derby, Nottingham and Southampton will be announcing their plans in the new year. Oxford have announced plans to ban all vehicles from 6 city centre streets from 2020.

I can see the need for an update to my sta nav to allow journey planning to avoid clean air zones ... similar to avoid toll roads.
