Help please!

Post by Jongo » Fri Dec 01, 2017 8:54 pm

Hi all,

My Bongo has just failed its MOT as needs a lot of work on its chassis, my mechanic says its too much for him and his welder... does anyone know any good 'Bongo rescuers'! around the Chichester or Banbury area please.

Any help much appreciated?

Any 'classic friendly' garage would be a good starting point if it's just welding that is required. They also tend to be reasonably priced and take pride in doing a good job. Many of the best are quite 'old school' so don't go in for fancy websites, preferring a phone call or drop in. Have a look in a magazine such as Practical Classics if you don't have a tame bodywork repair man already.

Just a few miles away in Portsmouth there's Owl Motors. They serviced mine with no problems. http://www.owlmotors.co.uk/index.php/services/

I have just finished cutting out all the rot from my other 4x4 ford... Kind of went a bit OCD with the cutter :)

I hope you put some bracing across the door frames etc, is that some inner sill stiffener I spy in there?
Could be a new club game - guess the vehicle from the pile of rust

That looks drastic. You might want to check out the Mig Welding Forum - there are plenty of projects and help available there for Mig repairs to vehicles.
