Last Bongo Bash

Post by the janner vanner » Sun Jun 26, 2016 9:13 pm

I would just like to thank everyone who made this, my last Stourport Bash, as memorable as the previous ten that Roseanne and I have attended I am afraid my body is telling me that my long distance driving days are over. We will still attend the Looe bash as it's only 12 miles away and the Southern Softies, so long as it's within a couple of hours driving distance. We left the Bash at 7.30 this morning and arrived home here in Torpoint at 2.30.
4 stops and 2 half an hour kips and an average speed of 55-60 for a 208 mile trip. We were both shattered.
We must mention a Big THANK YOU to the 3 amegos who travel down to see us on the Saturday of the bash from St. Helens and Wigan and drive back the same day, namely BDC Big daddy Cain [Steve} DABBS Dave and DBO Dave Blue Ozzie Dave. All three owned three of the best customised Bongos I have ever seen
Anyway a big THANK YOU to all those we have met over the years at the BIG bash.
We hope you all had a safe journey home

Dave and Roseanne

Great to see both of you David. :D

Sorry to hear you're cutting back on the distances but fully understand why.

You live in a great part of the country so plenty of local camping to come with luck. :D

Sorry to hear that your health won't allow you to drive the distances anymore Dave. Thanks to you, partly, I now have bling!

Hope I get to see you both at Looe or Southern Softies in the future.

Sorry I missed the 3 amigos! Didn't know they were going to be there! I was, actually, on the field.

Ian said 230 bongos and Ady got Bongonaut this year - and about time too!

I am not sure if that is a record but the next best. Concrats Ady you certainly deserve it. You are one in a million. As Jilly said not before time. It has been my pleasure knowing you as I doubt if our paths will cross again.

Ian quoted that we had 224 bongos in attendance this year......which is not the record which was about 260 but up on last year.. =D>

By Bongonaut of the year you must mean VANESSA who thoroughly deserved the next best thing to a Knighthood.....I am so glad that the Spannerman accepted this year ....so well deserved..... =D> =D> =D>

Congrats to Ady!! We had to leave before the AGM, so missed that, well deserved!

But yes a very enjoyable Bash, even if a a bit different for me this year but we should be back again next year with any luck!
