First MoT Naughtines

Post by Bob » Fri Nov 08, 2019 8:11 pm

After 12 trouble fee years our Ferdinand de Bongo got his first fail. :(

However - Since Allan, Plymouth, was taking care of him welding was sorted and his new medical certificate was issued in time for us to return to base the same day.

Big thankyou for sorting all this at zero notice. =D>

Hi Bob
There are electric mouse repellers that are very useful (not sure if yours are electric mice)....They run on 12 V, and if you have an electric hook-up from the house you won't worry about battery drain...They are notorious ( the mice) to get rid of, but electric repellers really work...or get a few good cats to patrol
Cheers

Good idea to get a zapper, thanks Helen.

We have a plague of cats here, almost all the neighbours have at least one and you might think they would do their job.

They manage to come to us for other 'business'. :(

Thanks Helen

I've ordered 2 so I'll put one in Bongy and one in the other car, might help in the garage, too.

Cheap enough to be worth a go. 8)

Hi Bob...
There are mouse repellers that plug in to the mains, and they might be best for the garage..They do work, but only as a preventative. They emit a shrill noise outside our hearing range, and they have a flashing light (small LED or similar)...They also emit a vibration along the domestic wiring. The downside of all of them is that any mice born in the house may be used to the noise, so the thing is that you need to get rid of the house mice first using traps, and then subsequent newcomers hear the noise and go . They do work, but it's patience...Yes...mice do eat mains cable insulation...apparently they like it. The best bait for mice is peanut butter ....and NEVER leave food out .Similarly , don't leave food out in bear country, as you just might get them in your mouse traps, and it's a bugger of a job to get them out once they're wedged in.
Cheers

The wee box of electricery is now fitted.

You can just make out a sound to set your fillings on edge so fingers crossed.

I did whip out the air filter just to check and no sign of the little blighters so far.

Might be, Allan gave it it's freedom once he'd fitted the new one.
