Re: Rear suspension rubber blocks

Well mine are definitely not there. So I think a bit of DIY is needed. I will of course take some photos. Any pointers, materials?

Problems after servicing bongo myself

I got a bit fed up paying my garage £280 to service the Bongo so reverted back to doing the job myself. I have done it several times without a hitch but today in 32degrees heat i had some problems. All filters replaced and oil topped up. Started up the engine and i know from past experience to give ...

Re: air con fan is weak

Thank you all for the info from this thread. I tackled this job and it took a couple of hours to strip, clean and replace. My blower went from nothing to jet powered. Going to get some draught excluder tape and replace the sponge gasket.
Thanks again all.

Re: Exhaust mount forward of axle

The standard rubber mounts can be seen here labelled as 40-061B and are pretty much the same on all vehicles, so can easily be picked up from Halfords etc. From what I've seen, most aftermarket exhaust retain all the original rubber fixings so it shouldn't be any different. http://lushprojects.com/...

Exhaust mount forward of axle

I noticed this mount has split and needs replacing. Problem is, firstly, I can't see how it is attached. Secondly I can't seem to find a new replacement. It is he rubber mount that is attached to a chasis cross member just forward of the axle. This may not be an original part as the exhaust is a sta...

Re: Coolant alarm

If its Haydn's alarm then it should light and beep when ignition comes on just to let you know it is functioning. If you want to test then when engine is cold, remove header tank cap, replace, remove one screw that holds the wires to the header, employ a small child to put finger over the hole, swit...

Re: Service failed Windscreen Washer Motor with Pics DONT DE

Cheers Ady mate. Had the front washer pump fail on me today and whipped all out and back in again in 2 hours including cleaning up both pumps. One footnote though, it was not necessary to remove either the headlight or the grill. Just the leisure battery tray which was only 4 bolts. Thanks again for...

Re: No rear window heating.

Don't know about that fuse business, maybe clean where the fuse is held. Usually problems with electrics in the tailgate are down to the wiring between the tailgate and the car body. The wires in there get broken real easy. Tis a bit of a fiddly job. There may be a fact sheet on it.

Metal pipes to the rear matrix

My mechanic says i need to replace the metal pipes at the rear matrix as they are badly coroded. In his words one goes forward and the other over the gearbox. Is this a common problem? Can i get hold of new ones or is it a breaker jobbie? Any other solutions? I am off to the Netherlands on Saturday ...

Gearbox Breather pipe,Where should it be?

Started hearing a noise under the side door step when driving at 50mph. Had a look underneath and found that somebody has hooked the gearbox breather pipe over another pipe just under there. There are come clips on the pipe that look like they should be pressed into holes in the bodywork or some bra...

Re: Rear Heater bypassed and hose kinked

Would the switch not be below the height of the expansion tank? Therefor remove switch, put thumb over hole and then replace. Else pressurise expansion and do it??

Rear Heater bypassed and hose kinked

I was flushing and replacing the coolant on a fellow bongonauts ride and we discovered the rear heater was bypassed. Someone had used one of the hoses to connect the two steel pipes, missing out the heater. I know this is not a problem as some people would do this on purpose. The problem was that th...
