Just a thought. Are you sure its from the drivers side?. My works van (a vw, wash mouth out ) developed a high pitched screaming when the gas peddle was pressed, turned out to be turbo bearings on the outlet side. Like i said, just a thought

Thanks for the offer Mike, hows the back??. Should be ok swapping the hose, its just bleeding the system i'm not sure about. Last car i worked on was a mk2 cortina, things have changed since then!
