I had a central locking problem which turned out to be a corroded pin in the connector inside the pillar that the door loom plugged into. Cables between door and pillar were fine.
Also the switches are known to fail, but I presume you've eliminated that possibility.

Re: Bringmeabongo
Thank you for your comments. We live in South Wales are this company will "Bring me a Bongo" for a small fee taken off the sale price if you purchase it. We've looked around but quite like their rear conversion, I realise that the condition of the van is a bigger factor to take into consi...

Re: Engine check light and temp gauge
Update on the Engine Management Check light. As promised here are the findings from the Garage. :D According to Rob at Owl Motors in Southsea it is the Sensor that regulates the mixture for my fuel and helps with fuel efficiency. After checking if he could fit a cheaper RX8 sensor (£80+VAT) :) and ...

Re: Spare keys
Hi there. Any recommendations on where to get a spare key cut? The original key has just snapped. As a new bongo owner am still getting sorted! Thanks. I'm in West Kent An auto-locksmith can cut a key with just the lock number. Might be useful if you don't have another key to copy. (I had my spare ...

Re: Cruise control
Perhaps we could come up with a factsheet for the members area? Happy to help on the 2L petrol side. It would save me a lot of emailing!! I'll see if we can get the original version presumably in Word from Simon Jones. Perfect pictures. Did the 2L petrol go fly-by-wire post 1999 or was this just a ...

Re: Cruise control
The pictures in Simon's guide (for which I feel a bit like a distributor, I hope Simon doesn't mind!) relate to a pre-1999 diesel. So people highlighting the differences for other engines such as the vacuum feed and perhaps throttle control (especially for post 1999 fly-by-wire) could be very useful...

Re: PhotoBucket to charge $399 a year
Perhaps it's time for Ian as Bongo Master to pick up this discussion thread and give us a steer on his thoughts and the implications of Photobucket's decision on the forum. What can be done or can't be done. I'm sure many Users will help as best they can to keep BF full of the gems of information t...

Re: Lifesure breakdown vs RAC
I can't fault Greenflag for recovering our van 4 times over the last year. That's 4 call-outs for a chap in a transit to go 'I can't fix that', then 4 flat-bed trucks to recover the Beastly Bus to a garage. We have the personal cover option that covers my wife and I in any vehicle and pay about £12...

Re: PhotoBucket to charge $399 a year
Would it make historical photos accessible if their IMG tag was replaced with the URL tag so readers can click through to see the photo on the Photobucket site? Whilst it does not bring back the inline photos it could make them accessible to readers. Unfortunately I can't properly test this on my PB...

Re: ...hoping it's something simple
You need to remove 24-2942 in this diagram . I use a cotton bud to ease the filter out of the "hole" in the pump. Not all bongos seem to have a banjo filter. There is an electric fuel cut off valve on top of the pump. Worth checking that it is operating properly - perhaps some wiring or co...

Re: Bongo acting up - help
A thought from left field, to which I welcome critical comment. Seeing as you are confident it is the right fuel, would it be worth trying a double dose of cetane boosting additive. If it does the trick it would save the hassle of draining the tank. Then when you are through with the duff fuel, fill...

Re: Bongo acting up - help
So far the checks suggested are the simplest / easiest so still worth doing but if dirty fuel is suspected, not just a non-venting fuel cap, then ... The fuel feed is all on the driver's side. Easiest to check and clean is the banjo filter accessed by removing the feed pipe where it goes into the pu...
