Re: WIERD NOISE WHEN TURNING RIGHT ??
Might be worth checking the drop links. I had a similar problem, although it wasn't confined to just turn turning in one direction, and it turned out to be just one of the drop link bearings seized up.

Re: Creaking when turning the steering wheel
glad to hear you have got it sorted :D dont be put off trying to sort things out yourself though, that is the best way to learn all the ins and outs of your bongo and improve general mechanical knowlege. you can then go to a garage with a bit more confidence and knowlege in general and be more awar...

Re: Creaking when turning the steering wheel
Okay - sorted. Phoned Adrian in Bury yesterday and he asked me to run it up there this morning. He soon diagnosed it was just one of the drop links - one of the joints was seized up. I had fitted these droplinks myself about 18 months ago and I've already had one replaced by Adrian in last October. ...

Re: Creaking when turning the steering wheel
Just a quick update. Jacked it up and got it on stands. Sprayed various places in turn but it made no difference. When I got a bit further underneath, and using Mazabon's technique, I've now come to the conclusion that the noise is from the steering rack itself. Very odd - if I'm at the side near th...

Re: Creaking when turning the steering wheel
dont spray everything, just suspect areas 1 bit at a time, and keep trying the steering as you go otherwise you may stop the noise but never know exactly what was causing it better to find the offending area, just in case it's the start of something that could get worse Wise words. I'll do that tom...

Re: Creaking when turning the steering wheel
i would compare it with the other side to get a better idea of how relavent it is, hard to tell from pictures Other side looks much the same except for the bits that have split. Might be ball joints. The noise will be amplified by the suspension parts acting like a trumpet. Is it ok to spray these ...

Re: Creaking when turning the steering wheel
Thanks for the suggestions. I've jacked up the front end - all the linkages seem okay. The creaking is still there with no load and it seems to be coming from the top of the offside shock absorber. Are these supposed to be lubricated in some way? I don't know if it's of any significance but there's ...

Creaking when turning the steering wheel
I'm getting a creaking/groaning noise when I turn the steering wheel. I've checked the fluid reservoir and it's at the 'max' mark (I assume there's no leak then). A search on the forum leads me to the power steering pump - can someone tell me where to find it and what to look for when I do? Anything...

Re: Mystery Flat batteries
A couple of weeks ago the Freda refused to restart following a quick stop outside a shop at Lakeside That's how my battery went a couple of years ago. No signs of trouble and, as usual, it started perfectly first time on a cold frosty morning. Drove for about an hour, stopped for a quick cuppa then...

Re: Side door problem,help needed.
No battery is fine,is this likely to be an electrical or complicated part problem or more of a summat dropped off and re attach problem ? No, it's just seized up, lack of lubrication - happened to me (my Bongo I mean.. ). There is a lever/cam arrangement that operates, via a bowden cable, a...

Re: knocking noise when travelling over bumps at low speed
Make sure you use a six-sided socket to get the nuts off. They are extremely tight (mine were anyway) and you can easily round the nuts if you use the twelve notched type.

Re: Inside sliding door handle
There's a fact sheet in the member's area - "Sliding Door: What to do if it gets jammed.". It includes instructions and a diagram of how to remove the door handle.
