Re: Weird electrical issues

I'm down on the South Coast so no experience on Scotland, but it might be worth checking the Members Club area as there is a spreadsheet of garages round the UK who are Bongo aware!

Re: Engine Temp - Haydn Alarm

If you have concerns then contact haydn callow on here as it was developed and sold via the forum at the start, and I do believe Haydn still comes on from time to time ... yes last on end of last year.

Re: Weird electrical issues

There can be several causes, first check the SCR itself, that might be switching on/off causing the surging because the voltage is varying. You've only just mentioned that the alternator has been changed, can you tell us why as it might well have been the cause of previous problems that are now only...

Re: Hand brake adjustment

The handbrake only functions on the rear brakes, its a separate system from the normal footbrake totally independent.
Seriously if you don't get the diagrams and you don't have any previous experience think carefully about working on the brakes yourself!

Re: Weird electrical issues

The central locking, internal lights etc are fed as standard from the internal fuse panel top left fuse which is the unswitched circuits, however this is often moved using the swap loom over to the leisure battery. Without actually following the wires back its difficult to say what is going on, how ...

Re: Hand brake adjustment

There is a cable to the gearbox which ensures that the Parking lock functions and the selector isn't moved incorrectly.

Re: Engine Temp - Haydn Alarm

Should say those temperatures are quite low, but if your a 2l petrol understandable, however a diesel can get a LOT hotter quite safely! Bear in mind the whole point of the sealed pressurised system is to raise the boiling point above the normal 100°C which allows more heat to be moved away so its q...

Re: Weird electrical issues

Most often its been bolted to the air scoop or a bit of plastic around the radiators, can be a small 1" cube or a larger VSR 4" cube, follow the two hefty cables back to each battery and there should be a fuse in each close to the battery. The one that feeds the LB sometimes will have a co...

Re: Weird electrical issues

A Swap loom is one method but it can also be wired up from behind the fuse box, my first Bongo I did that before I came across the idea of a Swap Loom. Have you checked the two fuses that feed the LB via the Split Charge Relay, some conversions wire it wrongly with the Swap loom fed from the fuse fe...

Re: Wire plugged into radio fuse

Yes the are 4 circuits that might be transferred across; Willingtonkitfusepanel.jpg Normally the old fuses are placed into the additional fuse box under the bonnet that is fed from the LB, if you do have problems in the future, all you need do is move the fuses back inside and remove the wires to pl...

Re: Hand brake adjustment

If your going to be doing a lot of your own maintenance work then its probably best to get the service manuals for your engine from the shop, there are 5 pages dedicated to the handbrake system alone with plenty of pictures and descriptions!

Maybe you need to refer to the mech. diagrams available here https://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/ follow the menu's down to locate the relevant diagram, it will at least show you what is what. For more detail then its best to obtain from the Shop service manual(s) for which ever engine you ha...

Re: 2.5td engine out

Provided the starter motor can start the engine, and is not physically loose or causing problems then I can't think that they will be testing the starter motor directly at all.
