Re: Another Scottish newbie

Rich One in "Mazda bongo mart uk" Inverness owner 19000 miles new shape immaculate. £6000 I'd break the bank for it, no alterations required good to go. Just being nosey Jim but Google appears never to have heard of them  It's a Facebook based site Mike, I advertised my bongo on it ...

Re: Hold light on bongo cut out.

A quick search on here endorses your line of thinking, Jim. Many possible causes, electrical or transmission. Such as this thread: http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=62742&p=604003&hilit=hold+light+limp#p604003 Or maybe something in this search [hold AND light AN...

Re: Hold light on bongo cut out.

I would add a few gallon of petrol to the tank in case the petrol has gone off due to running on LPG, check the petrol cap hole is clear, check the transmission oil, it should not be a dirty dark red, and should not smell of burnt toast, run it on petrol, run it on LPG see how it performs, if the li...

Re: Hold light on bongo cut out.

Hi Jim, Didn't get your message, was it email or phone? Did you get my text on Monday? Until Sunday I'd been running only on petrol so not too sure it'll be a wax problem. When I spoke to you on Sunday it had cut out twice in a short space of time. Both times the van seemed to shudder and then I lo...

Re: Hold light on bongo cut out.

I've left a message for to him give me a call Simon to get all the symptoms, and if the fault is still occurring, I'm wondering if he has bad fuel due to running on LPG all the time and the petrol has got a bit waxy, and if he has hit the hold button in error the higher revs mean more demand for fue...

Re: Hold light on bongo cut out.

Yes it does Bob but after several miles it happened again, that's when he called me yesterday for advice, both times he started the bongo no problem after pressing and clearing the hold button. I've asked him to call me to let me know how things went, and any further issues whist making his way home...

Hold light on bongo cut out.

Had a call for advice from the lad I sold my bongo to, he had pulled over on the A1, as the hold light was on and the bongo had cut out, I explained to him the hold light shows the hold button has been depressed, usually to assist in negotiating hills be it up or down them, any ideas why the light i...

Re: VW at Scottish motorhome exhibition

Well we had a good nosy, still really like the Wildax Solaris sadly don't have £48,000 to spare at the moment. Bonus, we bumped into Mulshy and co. Sara As I said Sara hardly a motorhome or campervan to be seen under £40k, yet we sat and had a coffee at the Preston motorhome section and, all their ...

Re: Another Scottish newbie

The costs can be never ending on these vans if you get the wrong one, also make sure you fit, or it is fitted with a low coolant alarm and a TM temperature sensor, as the dash temperature gauge is useless. As these vans can be 20 or so years old you will need to keep on top of things to maintain it ...

Re: VW at Scottish motorhome exhibition

Saw them at the exhibition, we also checked out this type of van conversion before we made our purchase, the are a lot better value than the VW, and generally a good few grand cheaper, the only issues we had was where the toilet/shower area was situated in the van it really narrowed the isle/walkway...
