Re: Wild Camping and facilities in Scotland

Good call Geoff, most sites will let you dispose of your waste for a small fee however, I have encountered a small number of sites where if you don't pay in full for an overnight " you ain't dumping your stuff." The problem is we are discussing an issue which is not our making, most member...

Re: Wild Camping and facilities in Scotland

Access to Skye for the vast majority of motorhomes and campervans is via the bridge, why not set up a Tiree type of levy based on the number of nights you plan to wild camp on Skye, honesty boxes, volunteer payments/donations are open to abuse, especially by the same jokers who leave all their mess ...

Re: Help me buy the correct grill.

I had a mazdaspeed grill on mine Mike, very similar to the grill in the pictures, I very much liked the look of my grill and was asked by several bongo owners white I had got it from.

I was given a Tom Tom sat nav for Christmas, it's packed in, contacted Amazon with my order number etc they claim after 30 days my issue is with Tom Tom, whom I contacted, and after several updates, reboots, "repair my Tom Tom" downloads etc etc the dammed thing still is not working, but I...

Re: Scottish Bongo Bash 2017

Applecross ain't that easy to get to Muz especially one of the two roads you can travel to reach the village it's self. The road is legendary, with sheer drops, land slides and is a busy single track road, personally I find it's is a great experience to drive it but it's not for the faint hearted. M...

What about the tantalon site at north Berwick, not too far north for people from down south and on the east coast so much less of a midge problem in mid August.

Re: Fridge - unpredictable operation

I had a similar problem with my bongo, auto electricians ended up cleaning up the contacts on the zig unit, including the fuse units, they said after a while with all the condensation in the bongo caused by sleeping in it, any terminals in the the van, are liable to this problem after a few years of...

Although my curtains worked electrically, I just pulled them up and down manually for years, never did them a bit of harm.

Re: Calling all ex bongo owners

Bought an eriba to be towed with the bongo but to be honest we preferred not to use campsites so the caravan was getting left at home and we just wild camped. We did miss the comfort of having a proper toilet and shower room and also the increased storage so sold the bongo and the eriba caravan. Bou...

Re: 47" or 41" Bed in side conversion ??

I did find the small fridge under my 47" bed would run for 4 days on the leisure batter no problem, and when you opened it, because it's a drawer type, the cold air did not fall out of it as I wood in the larger upright fridges. Must say I liked the extra room in the larger bed, storage was an ...

Re: Space Saver Wheel

Hi thanks for those answers - have to admit we hadn't thought about a tow bar option but as we have a rear kitchen pod and would be using the tailgate a lot have decided to keep the outside of the van uncluttered. Our main problem at the moment is where to get a 17" five stud rim to fit. I hav...
