Re: ATF capacity

Hi Yes...I'm going through the vehicle again checking all the bits...Just had another MOT...no fails since I had it...The MOT stations are all so damn' modern over here and the cleanest I've seen...all are built with inspection pits, computerised, and every test is photographed, and you wait while t...

Re: ATF capacity

Hi Thanks, Geoff...It was more of a query,as my gear changing got a bit notchy, and it struggled to get on the drive...I put a litre in, and it's a bit better, and I'll check tomorrow...It doesn't seem too much of a loss considering the total volume of fluid, so I'm not too bothered...No smell and c...

Re: ATF capacity

Hi
Thanks, Bob, I had an idea it was around 7 litres somewhere...Just curious, as I topped mine up today, and it seemed to take a lot.Not only is the search going bonkers, I can't delete messages to pick up new private messages  :?

ATF capacity

Hi I've tried the search , and fully expected the answer to come up as "Three bananas and a rice pudding"....The search for the ATF capacity of the autobox came up as ....well....just think of anything other than ATF.....but at least I know where to go camping in summer, to enjoy screaming...

Re: First MoT Naughtines

Hi Bob... There are mouse repellers that plug in to the mains, and they might be best for the garage..They do work, but only as a preventative. They emit a shrill noise outside our hearing range, and they have a flashing light (small LED or similar)...They also emit a vibration along the domestic wi...

Re: First MoT Naughtines

Hi Bob There are electric mouse repellers that are very useful (not sure if yours are electric mice)....They run on 12 V, and if you have an electric hook-up from the house you won't worry about battery drain...They are notorious ( the mice) to get rid of, but electric repellers really work...or get...

Re: Starting issue -Diesel

Hi Mike The raised tickover on mine hadn't worked for years, and there are the 2 cables...one doesn't get signaled by the vac component of the solenoid with the white plug......it's a second solenoid that operates the startup...and the whole system on mine runs perfectly when started...just one litt...

Re: Starting issue -Diesel

Hi Post-script....I MAY have found the issue...not sure yet.....BUT I just started the Bongo again...this time no movement of the 2 cables on turning on the ignition....BUT a quick spin, and the lower cable pulled without operating the throttle (upper cable), so the instant vacuum from the pump / in...

Re: Starting issue -Diesel

Hi Teenmal...It's not just the throttle it pulls by vacuum....There are 2 items it opens...I have an inkling that it's a mixture device, also...and ,no, I just checked the temperature as to whether it affects it, as I wondered if there was an involvement with the ECU stopping the opening in high tem...

Re: Starting issue -Diesel

Hi Yup...probably not the pump...just popped out first thing, pulled the vacuum operated cable open a bit , as the solenoids didn't work it, and it fired on the button!...so it's definitely somewhere in the vac. circuit...not the solenoids, as they are new (second hand via Bongospares)... Puzzle? Ch...

Re: Starting issue -Diesel

Hi Mike Definitely a loss of vacuum...The solenoids switch the vacuum unit to pull the throttle open while starting, and it drops off when it fires, and keeps the tickover up until warm. It doesn't sound like the fuel pump....mind you, I'm replacing it anyway in a month or two...they aren't everlast...

Starting issue -Diesel

Hi Still having starting issues with my 2.5 Diesel...plugs replaced, all vacuum solenoids, no shorting at busbar , cleaned all the fuses, battery fine, relay seems O.K, but the solenoids, whilst they click, do not pull the throttle open, and the engine turns over like a cement mixer until starting.....
