Re: Awning suitable for a family of 5, any recommendations p

We have a day tent - like a gazebo with sides. Pretty good most of the time but the sides do not come down to the ground so it gets windy around our feet. I think a tent is more versatile than an awning or day tent.

Re: 7 and a half and 6 year old on camp site play area

Our boy was running about sites on his own when he was 5. Same rules as listed above. He always carried at radio similar to this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cobra-MT600-Walkie-Talkie-Radio/dp/B000SA93L4/ref=sr_1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1335688354&sr=1-10 which was great for calling him ...

Re: France Autoroute Peage Class 2 Charge Avoidance Liber-t

Wouldn't be without it. Love the looks from the French when they think another stoopid rosbif got it wrong. And the Belgians and Germans who tear past at 90+ only to get held up at the tolls and have to do it all over again. Don't forget the looks from the Brits in their 4x4 Chelsea tractors - we h...

Re: Weather abroad?

Enough of the "how warm it is in Europe" chat .... please! We were due to have a 3 week tour of France and Spain but fell for the "hot summer in the UK" prediction and a number of family birthdays so thought "sod it, lets stay in England". Our last summer break will be ...

Re: Bitterly Disappointing.

Just to clarify - I wouldn't expect a manned reception point for these events but having a clearly indicated hub where people could get info. and having someone making a point of checking that each group of Bongoliers were visited and greeted some time within a few hours or so of their arrival would...

Re: Bitterly Disappointing.

I would have thought all Meet attendees bar the kids would be capable of attending and not need spoon feeding "what, where, when" its always in the information either on here for member organised ones or via e mail or post for Club organised ones, surely people can read the details and asses...

Re: Bitterly Disappointing.

... needless to say we will not be attending another one and regrettably will not be renewing our membership to BongoFury. ] From my experience, Bongo get togethers can either be great fun or awkward. I think of Bongofury as a website forum for sharing our interests and issues with Bongos. The chan...

Re: Cruise control fitting - urgent help please!

When I fitted mine, my insurance company wanted proof that it was fitted correctly and stated that letter from a suitably qualified professional person was acceptable. Their definition of such person was someone with a qualification in automotive electrical engineering and who worked in the industry...

Re: Holiday idea wanted ...

We love camping in the UK and would not look to go overseas as much if the weather was more reliable and sunny :) The South of France is looking better and better but we are still up in the air re work - my wife might have to return to work earlier than expected so we will have less than 2 weeks - d...

Re: Holiday idea wanted ...

Arles looks really nice for a cultural tour - the google images of the area look great. Not sure about the beaches though - what are they like? We have a 2 year old and 8 year old that need to burn off steam running about on sand and playing in the sea. South Italy looks really good - certainly a pl...

Re: Holiday idea wanted ...

Cumbernauld and Essex - two interesting alternatives to the Med ..... our current plan is to go to Suffolk - almost as dry as Essex but predicted to be wetter than normal this summer :( I was fooled - we had such a good time in Suffolk over Easter - spending most days on the beach and thinking who ...

We like SW France but the weather forecast is not good :( We would have had a good time there with 3 sets of friends in the area but it appears just as damp as we have, only a little warmer. http://www.weather-forecast.com/locations/Limoges/forecasts/latest Check out La Creuse, it has different wea...
