Re: Siezed bongo?

Just read your previous post. Although I am a mechanic of 40 years standing I have no experience of Bongos, so any info I can help with is generic rather than Bongo specific. If you have a supply to the starter when key is in start position then you can forget about the immobilizer for now. You need...

Re: Siezed bongo?

Normally yes. The electrical supply is cut when the ignition is in the key off position allowing the valve to drop and close off the fuel supply
Did you check for a supply at the starter?

Re: 2.0L misfire

Sorry for delay in responding away at weekend and no internet connection on site. I would check the idle speed control valve is not gummed up, or worse failing. Having said that I have no idea where it is or what type of valve it is on your motor. Others on here will know. You will need a can of car...

Re: Siezed bongo?

I would proffer starter motor. Quick check Eliminate possible earthing problems by putting a jump lead from Neg batt to starer body or as close as you can get. Then put a voltmeter (or 12V bulb) onto the thinner wire at the starter, you can leave it connected, other side to ground and turn the key i...

Re: Lambda sensor for 2 litre.

Glad you got it sorted. But just in case it comes back... at the moment an engine check light is not a MOT failure. A SRS or safety related light like airbag or similar is however.

Re: Throttle position sensor on 1998 2.5 v6 Auto Petrol

First let me say I have very limited experience on Bongos specifically. It sounds very much like the TPS. What mileage is shown on odometer? If the vehicle has been used for a lot of town driving it is possible that the leading part of the track has worn. I know there is a lot of debate about voltag...

Re: 2.0L misfire

You describe it as stutters, does it seem as though it is about to stall and then recover?
Does this only happen on idle?

Roll ups

May seem like a damn silly question but I would be interested in how you peeps roll up the unzipped roof tent fully, not the fly screen.. I had occasion to do this the other day when it was hot, yes! Hot! So is it side panels first then end or end and side panels or shove it up and secure? Stayed at...

Re: Temp gauge fact sheet - modifying standard temperature g

Just checked out the link thanks. Raises another question what is the conversion chip for? I thought that the mph overlay dealt with calibration issue. I noticed on Ebay something about it removing the limiter? Although now I cannot find the ad. :?:

Re: Temp gauge fact sheet - modifying standard temperature g

Pretty sure it a standard unmodded gauge.I cant say I noticed it before oil and filter change. It may well be a bad earth or poor connection as Northern says. I will get in there and check it weekend. How does the instrument cluster release?

Re: Temp gauge fact sheet - modifying standard temperature g

Sorry to hijack but I have a strange thing happening with my temp gauge. When I accelerate the gauge drops to cold if I release the accelerator it climbs back to normal.Any ideas? Cannot see evidence of over heating and the level in tank has remained the sam and heater functions normally. Perplexed ...
