definitely alternator, as the charge n sediment light both reference from them alternator output, seen this lots of times when the alternator dies, unfortunately usualyy means replacement as rebuild is a) next to impossible and b) normally just as expensive as a new unit.

Re: Just Replaced top seal on the steering rack
the rack seal can be changed in situ, its a bit fiddly but can be done, only if your changing the rack do the wheels normally come off? that said i have seen them changed with the wheels on, by undoing the track rod ends.but they are a pain to get the rack out!! without the engine running there is v...

Re: Just Replaced top seal on the steering rack
Note to anyone carrying or intendind to carry out this job, when removing the seal BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL not to damage the wall of the seal seat when u push the screw driver in to lever the old seal out, or you will only get a partial seal and be doing this job again in the near future!! stupid as it...

Re: Mysterious noise
check around exhaust manifold, a snapped stud makes a sort of warble/mouse stuck under the seat noise? check that the forward most lower stud is intact or for black 'sooting' around manifold at front end.

Re: Bongo electrics
fuse is under the bonnet, think its a 15amp, located at rear of the box, and is marked tail, beware if it is that fuse blown,it also means you have no rear lights!! the garage has probably incorrectly wired the fog light switch the first time they fitted it.

Re: rear diff/transmission
err states noise is from the rear, no cv's?! have you checked diff levels,as could be slack in the rear diff thats taken up under power, its a full on mission to rip it all out to inspect, but lots of places rebuild them if thats the case.

Re: Driver door wiring
door trigger for lights doesn't run through door loom, the pin is located to the rear of the door space on the vehicle, held in with a philips screw, undo, pull it out n clean the end of the contacts to resolve. get hold of some extra flexible wire (it has lots on thin cores) and cut out the broken ...

Re: Which radiator?

agree with all, outer cv is on its way and the garage are trying it on, buy a cv from fleabay about £30 and ask them to fit it, 1 hours labour tops
