Re: Cross-channel ferries
Car, you can see if you use drop down menu on P&O for instance as gives exterior dimensions, the Bongo easily achieves them.

Re: AFT fabric cleaning
I don't have an AFT but use Autoglym Soft Top cleaner and proofer on convertibles, I reckon it would be effective.

Campsite charges
I know this is rip off Britain, but having looked and booked several sites in SE England I am at a loss as to how owner's of a 'field' are charging £20+ pn for camping, whilst providing the bare minimum/nothing? Some families are paying circa £40-50 to pitch in a field! I like back to basics style c...

Re: Funky leisure sun canopy
Do you have the 'uprated' model with the middle support/pole taller than the two sides?

Re: Funky leisure sun canopy
I get minimal flap from the canopy roof, the pegs supplied were useless, now use long 'nail' type tent pegs. with a short guy at 45 degress and also re threaded guy ropes as they seemed threaded incorrectly on the adjuster; so now have decent tension, prior that I was fairly miffed about the peforma...

Yes I got the recommendation from yourself and very happy I am with it too. It works brilliantly and is basically invaluable now so thank you.

Re: Oil in exhaust fumes?
Probably due to the manner in which a diesel engine starts and the fuelling when the engine is 'cold'.

Re: Funky leisure sun canopy
Probably nothing in it save for the colour, but I went for the Khyam with the code works out £15-20 cheaper.

Re: Transmission not changing up to 4th and lock-up not working.
When I purchased the van I had never driven an auto box, so was almost unaware that when it went into 2nd the revs would rise (over rev) to 2500-3000rpm then change, this was with very small amounts of pressure on the accelerator, if I accelerated away the problem did not happen, I also noticed that...

Re: Transmission not changing up to 4th and lock-up not working.
On twisties and up and down dale I use the 'Hold' button, really useful. I too keep the van at 2500-3000rpm on hills, relatively slow but just plods along.

Re: Transmission not changing up to 4th and lock-up not working.
Just found this advice/post from 2014, from the experience I had with poor shifting a tweak/small movement of the TPS completely cured the issues I was having with the auto box and returned the shift performance, enabled proper hook up again and good mpg: 'Does it have gears 1-2-3 & are they shif...

Re: Great campsite in Kent
Can recommend Sunnyside Farm Camping in Pett Bottom, we like basic/wildcamping style, it's a small mown field with a portaloo and across the small lane in the Farmhouse grounds a bathroom with shower. Duck Inn is 100m down the lane. Idyllic countryside, very peaceful and quiet £17. Trying a place ne...

Re: thickness of figure of 8 awning
WIth Outdoor Revoulution you usually need to buy the fitting kit which is shown in the pictures above. Without causing you more concern I am not 100% but are the XL awnings not for van's that are 2.4m high or more, the standard awning would fit the Bongo, I would check this out with Outdoor Revoluti...
