Hi,
There were some comments a while ago on FB about somebody using an artificial grass overcarpet. I can see their point about it being easy to remove and hose down (or mow).

Re: Bristol Bob ?
Hi, Sounds to me that the case was badly researched and poorly presented. No mention of the(documented) threats he made to a customer who dared to complain or at least one vehicle sold in a dangerous condition, but with a new MOT. No doubt he will continue with another collection of aliases, but one...

Re: Is this a record?
Hi, He gave me a lift once years ago. I was between paying jobs and was doing some work as a trade plater (professional hitch hiker) and he stopped for me, I think it was on the A34 near Winchester. Green TVR I think. Didn't realise who he was at first, but the accent gave him away after a few minut...

Re: New arrival Awning
Hi, I have the same awning and did wonder if the current reports of roof rot might be caused by the weight of a gutter mounted awning cracking a seal, allowing water to be wicked in. This then spreads, encouraged by warming and re-condensing. Its not so much whether there is currently an awning on t...

Re: RIP Leonard Cohen
Hi, "interesting discussion on the radio today arguing that the wrong man won this," In some ways yes. In the '60s everybody who could hold down a chord "did" Dylan, me included but I always preferred his stuff done by somebody who could actually sing. Cohens music was much less ...

Only just read this - Leonard Cohen has passed away aged 82. Fond memories of his music from my past.

Re: Camper Share
Hi,
Interesting idea, don't see why it wouldn't work with the right people. Its not uncommon with aircraft, boats etc and I know from one of my "previous lives" that its been done with historic military vehicles. I know of at least 2 WW2 tanks that are, or were, syndicate owned.

Re: Change speakers
Hi, I'm using the original speakers, with a reasonable quality 4x50 head unit and what I found made quite a difference to sound quality was to stick some of the aluminium faced 3mm bitumen pads to the inside of the door and rear outer skins. It also largely gets rid of that horrible "sounds jus...

Re: CUT AND SHUT
Bob - I didn't know about those, it might have been a conversion on one, but it had the proper RR rear end. I only saw it once, in the dark and did a double take, but I do know of the guy who put it together. He used to take Landys, among other things and do fantastic things to them. A friend of min...

Hi,
There used to be a 6 wheel drive Mk1 Range Rover around here so anything is possible if one has the time, inclination, knowledge, facilities & money.

Re: JAL LPG V6 Written off ..
Hi, definitely haggle. When 'er in drawers wrote off our first Bongo they came up with a value based on the engineers report and what a "comparable" vehicle fetches on Fleabay. I pointed out to them that it was purchased from JAL and told the broker to look at their website to get some ide...

Re: Fiamma F45S Awning
Hi, Worth keeping an eye on Fleabay. I picked up an F45 complete with unused privacy room & brackets for a T5 for £350. Very well worth having from our point of view, though some might find a drive away more useful. The feet are definitely worth having and I've also found it worthwhile casting s...

Re: Body Worn Cameras
Hi,
Before you invest, do check that your chosen model will give you adequate battery life. I have a mate who has a GoPro and it really eats batteries. Other than that, it's a fantastic bit of kit.

Re: Crowd funding sought
This is a wonderful idea, but it needs to be taken to a higher level. Anybody who has taken a walk around the more "interesting" shops in Amsterdam (or Glastonbury) cannot fail to have seen the large water pipes with multiple mouthpieces. What is required here is a container with multiple ...
