Re: Flat batteries!
It shouldn't happen. Give 321 a call once you've satisfied yourself it wasn't something you did! Did you pack anything into the driver's footwell which could have depressed the break pedal? The brake lights remain active and will drain a starter battery. Ignition switch completely off and keys remov...

Re: Noise from belts or bottom pulley
Hard to tell constant tension worm drive from standard jubilee once they are on, especially on small clips. Maybe it was 4 jubilees ....

Re: Noise from belts or bottom pulley
and hopefully you have removed that new jubilee clip, if not it will leak there on that metal stub. well Mr NB, no ordinary jubilee clip, fairly sure it was a constant tension thingy. I confess that there are 2 gen jubilee clips somewhere on Bongo because I couldn't get affordable cons...

Re: Noise from belts or bottom pulley
Chris, you need to check the profile of the pulley grooves , the pulleys wear as do the belts,it does look like you have a mismatch. Good Luck. Rita, excuse my dumb questions but How? What am I looking for? Sounds like something that needs to be done "on the bench" rather than in situ. I'm...

Re: Noise from belts or bottom pulley
Thanks NB. I believe the alternator to be original. (Hitachi) I'll give another pair of belts a go :( - must be a wuss - last time couldn't get them round the bottom pulley from the top - ended up taking the under cover off and attacking from below. Been thinking. This problem started after I did th...

Re: Resetting fault codes on the ECU
Tony fuse 1 is one of those that power the ECU . Maybe the only one? If it blows the engine problem light (coil) comes on (flashing? cant remember) indicating an engine problem It covers a shed load of other devices inc radio . In my mind a poor choice to move to the LB( fry the LB no start van). R...

Re: Noise from belts or bottom pulley
Grrrr! This still haunts me! Fortunately Bongo hasn't had to do many miles this year. I was directed to check that it's all in line by a few peeps. I didn't understand how the pulleys could be out of line until NB pointed out that there is a bush in one of the mounting lugs on the alternator that ca...

Re: Speeding alarm
Cab and instruments look similar to the Bongo Brawny. My mate's no-turbo diesel 'M' reg Brawny hasn't got a speed warning. I'll reword that, if it's set to 110 km/hr his would need a very steep downhill to test it. So a big round of to your speedy gas burner.

Re: ATF leak
Whilst I appreciate your desire to have it looked at by your preferred mechanic, I would understand the location and size of the leak before the journey and assure yourself it isn't going to leak catastrophically. The leak is probably from one of two pipes between the gearbox and ATF cooler on the b...

Re: Bikes on bike rack - how will it affect mpg?
Never noticed the affect of bikes on the back. Personally I'd ignore.
On my slippery hatchback car (Diesel Civic) bikes on the back might reduce mpg a small bit but never felt significant. However bikes on its roof totally rinses the mpg.

I thought the middle and back benches were interchangeable so this would only involve sourcing another middle bench. (Different matter if your back seats were the flip up version rather than the bench version)

Re: Oil leak from pipe connected to top of turbo?
You won't get torrents of oil when you remove that pipe. I don't recall even having to top up my oil after removing the turbo.
As teenmal says, after cleaning it is easier to spot an oil leak with the dirty used oil still in the system.

Re: Tailpipe fallen off - on hol - can I still drive it?
Unless I've misunderstood the damage, you only need to replace the back box section. Readily available, cheap to buy, easy DIY job. If yours is in good nick maybe welding is an option. I'm no expert so I'd take it to your welder for advice. I had an exhaust welded yonks ago, kept it going for a whil...
