The coolant level shouldn’t drop much. My car went five years before it needed a top up. If you are just topping it up to half way between the max min I’d use Prestone. This will mix with any anti freeze. I’d just pour it in neat as that’ll increase protection.

Being the 2.0ltr engine the system self bleeds, so changing the coolant is a doddle.

Likewise never seen those built into the door mirror (you got a photo?) or are these actually mounted to the wing? One my 2002 the repeaters are part of headlamp cluster.

You also need to consider the time it takes to remove the interior before they can start welding - otherwise the Bongo will be toast. £2,400 doesn’t sound to bad give the work involved to be honest. Don’t be put off working on the old Bongo yourself. It’s very basic and nothing like modern cars that even need a computer to reprogram them once the battery has been replaced.

I was brought up with rusty cars. My Dad had an old Anglia which was more fibre glass than metal. He hand painted it by brush and it looked great. Can remember all the Dad’s fixing up their old cars.
