Re: WANTED - 'SUSPENSION' - SWAP!

Would putting higher profile tyres on there lift it up enough?

Re: Engine temperature readings

In short... Winter 89C and summer 93C averages. Can hit 97c - 100C for a very short time on a long climb using a temp sensor on the back of the head. There or there abouts, sometimes if you park it up in the summer the temperature will go up past 100° setting off the temperature alarm but it'll com...

Must do that, had to put on the skinny wheel the other day and it's not exactly confidence inspiring :?

Re: Rust converters, any success.

^ I've had similar results with POR15, 4 years and still going strong. I sanded off the heavy rust using a drill with a wire brush head. Then applied 2 coats of the grey undercoat and a black overcoat. I Also applied the POR15 metal prep stuff beforehand. There's a few little bits I'm looking into t...

Ah OK thanks,
Forgot to mention my van is a 98 so maybe it's an older version or possibly even an aftermarket system :?

Re: Remote Central locking

Hey I've a one here that I got with my van but it's half broken as it only locks it.

Does this look like a standard remote or was it fitted afterwards and would it be a big job to get a replacement one?

Re: Oil extraction pump?

...but do the gearbox oil more frequently than ours.... I'm only on 170,000kms so it sounds to me like it'll do twice that  Would be nice to check and clear the magnet but at the same time I could just drain it with the Pela pump and replace the exact quantity i took out with fresh oil. It wou...

Re: Oil extraction pump?

Reporting back and I've nothing bad to say about the Pela 6000. It certainly makes switching out the oil much more convenient and less messy - although I did still make a bit of a mess removing the oil filter #-o I was going to use it on my transmission fluid too but I'm reading that if it's not dis...

Turned out I forgot it plug in a connector beside the handbrake

Oil extraction pump?

Hi all, I'm looking into getting an oil extraction pump to use on my van and I'm just wondering if there's any reason I couldn't use it to drain the Auto box fluid as well? My van is lowered so it's a right pain trying to get in at the drain plugs or get a container in under it to collect the oil. W...
