Hi Wrster Thanks for that input - and yes, I have read your article with interest - I think it gave me the impitus to have a go! The difficulty I see is that my leisure battery is at present wired with the negative terminals linked, and the Split Charge relay connecting the positives. I need to devi...

CQ, CQ - Pippin ( Split charge again ) !!

Hi Pippin I was wondering if you had come across this product before? http://www.redarc.com.au/smartstart-techspec.pdf I have just received one from Australia - just under £40 with carriage, and it seems the muts nuts for our Bongo's. So, it's back under the bonnet again, and modify my system!! Have...

No apology needed, Ian - it was only a stab in the dark!! I'm a new convert to Bongo'ing, so I'm still on a steep learning curve! Managed to win a towbar on eBay - it arrived at 10am - along with the rain! Luckily, it cleared after dinner, enabling some progress to be made - the towbar is fitted and...

Hi Ian

Doesn't the flashing glow plug lamp read the ECU faults? I would be tempted to just disconnect the main battery for 5 mins - that should clear anything.

You're on the downhill straight now, man - don't jump under a bus just yet!!

Hi Veg_Ian The other alternatives you, and I, could consider, is the voltage-triggered relay device from Towsure - I guess this could sense the charge voltage going to the main battery, then switch on the SC relay when it reaches, say, 14volts. I guess that then, when you stop the engine, the main b...

Hi Veg_Ian I have just also wired up a split charge relay - and had the same problems as you mention - ignition light glowing, but more importantly, the relay was dragging the voltage down to about 5v, not enough to energise the relay! It was definitely wired correctly - the thin black/ blue? wire f...

Ah - so! I had looked at Dandy's photo before - and assumed the plugged pipe was the one down on the left, by that silver insulation - hadn't spotted the red cross - it doesn't seem to show up very well - unless you know you're looking for a red cross!! Thanks for that info - do I understand this is...

I've just replaced the standard radio/cassette for a decent UK one, with removable front. I discovered the original didn't use a frame for mounting - so when I fitted the frame for the new radio, it fits quite a bit recesed. No probs there, but I was wondering about the old one I removed. How about ...

Egor I have a very similar flip-down "clamshell" one I bought off eBay, ?99 from England - no dvd, but is a tv and monitor. I was going to fit it in the Romahome, but luckily didn't, as we're just buying a Bongo, and the Romahome is up for sale!! I also got a Sony MEX-R1 head unit, which w...

Re: Cruise Control

Hi egor110 Hope you don't mind a newbie replying to your post, but this month I had a cruise control fitted to my Romahome, and am delighted with it - dead easy to use, and maintains speed within 1mph. I went for the gear-stick commander option from this company:- http://www.adroitservices.biz/ We c...
