If I can just add that I for one would like the spare wheel to have a tyre in good nick with plenty of tread. Hopefully it will never be used but it would be nice not to have to worry about it again.

Mike, It sounds that you have a newer Bongo with Climate Control. here you dial in the temperature you require by pressing a "Temp" button and the system will attempt to keep to that temperature rather than the older air Con where there is a slider switch to adjust the temp manually. If yo...

The manual has an illustration as to its use but I have no time to scan and upload it. Basically, the end with the flange sist in the seat runner track and the end with the round hole is screwed to the floor using the supplied bolt (long gone in most Bongos no doubt) which is tightened with a coin. ...

Well said Colin. I paid an arm and a leg (!) for my New Shape solely so I could have two air-bags. This because one of these devices saved the life of a friend.

1. Yes 2. Not sure how to fix it. My one has loose screws and no matter how often I tighten them they will work loose and the whole windoiw rattles on a long run. 3. The spare wheel is under the rear of the vehicle and is lowered by a device which is tored with the understair tool compartment. You w...

This just illustrates the power and value of the Forum. Someone raises a question about the use of a Bongo in Europe and within days a Bongo user in Germany pops up with the answer.

Wow!

Yes, perfectly normal. The slightest moisture in the air (e.g. dew) will spot them with rust, it does not have to have been raining. And yes, often one side is more prone depending on exposure, wind direction etc. There is a Toyota dealership at the top of my road. They havebrand new cars in the ope...

Keswick, I just use one of the sprays that are marketed to add a (temporary) shine to tyres. Loads in Halfrauds. They claim to preserve the tyres as well (well they would wouldnt they) but indeed I found that they keep the roof and door seals moist and subtle throughout all weathers.

Cheers

I think Bongo would soon tell you in other ways if overheating. I seldom hear my fan whereas I hear the Yaris's all the time.

Cheers mate.

I think that is the right decision but DO NOT forget to let the engine idle for a minute after a short run, a couple after a long one. If pulling in for fuel on the motorway where it is not possible/advisable to idle the engine at the pumps, relax the speed for the last 10 miles or so. This is to pr...

Raise the roof once in a while

For a number of reasons, mainly connected with my Colin-like health I have not used the roof space in my Bongo although I have been driving it quite regularly. Took a look at it yesterday before I go into hospital. First thing is that despite sitting under baking sun for the past few weeks, some rai...

Went out in both my Toyota and Bongo last (scorching) Saturday. Without the aircon on, both were delivering warm air through the vents. Choice was either to switch aircon on or rely on open windows so I think it is normal. Enjoy the aircon. Drinks more fuel but hell if you cannot enjoy chilled air i...
