Re: Coolant tank cap
changed a red 1'1 cap last week,it was blowing off according to my pressure testing kit at 0'9
swapped to new 1'1 no water loss now.
found several of these red caps to be substandard,if this is leaking on your radiator you will not see a leak as it evaporates off.

Re: rpm at 70mph
auto's 2600 at 70mph
manual about 3100 at 70mph
if your an auto box and your lock up is not working this could differ.or if you have pressed the hold button you may get to nearly 4000 at 70 mph

Re: Millermatic AFT, engine oils, Adrian, Bury market
not replaced oil here before mike.have it on good authority that if you totally drain/refil the system the steering can become knotchy, but not sure, not sure the pela will get to it all either.
the system is actually working very hard mike as the oil is constanly being compressed then relaxed!!

Re: Millermatic AFT, engine oils, Adrian, Bury market
mike the atf and power steering fluid are the same stuff,i dont mean they are the same system,i mean they are the same grade of oil,
sounds like a change is due,if its smelly and dark/old could be the power steering pump,or just old oil.

the egr's job (exhaust gas recirculation) is to recirculate exhaust gas back into the inlet air system and reburn again, this cleans up the emissions for japan(very strict) the emissions for britain are not as strict so strictly speaking its not needed.if you want to blank it off in theory it should ...

try loosening the spare wheel wire slightly,if you wind it up very tight you may distort the floor.

Re: Rad & Header caps.
you may need to order several lol as it will be about 6 months before you stop checking the coolant visually, and just rely on your gauges. mind you i think you have every right to be a little cautious with what you have been through

Re: Loss of Power and Blue smoke.
just a weird thought, you said you had belt troubles/noises,could it be manifold stud broken or several.this makes whistling noises when gone, and could affect performance, and give smoke.

hi kenneth, when you say the van overheated while left running whilst packing.what exactly happened. you say you then changed the coolant and stat.did you clean the recirc port at the top of the stat housing as per recent threads? the trip to work and back sounds like an air lock/not bled to complet...
