Re: Bongo Security

Can anyone recommend a good steering wheel lock which fits the Bongo? Reading this thread has made me a bit twitchy! I'm guessing the type of lock which locks the handbrake to the gearstick will not fit an automatic? I'm favouring a wheel lock, and just wondering which ones fit the larger steering w...

Re: best awning for bongo's

That depends on a number of circumstances. What time of year will you be camping? Will you be sleeping in it? Will it be used just for storage or as a living-space? How many of you in your party? How watertight do you like things to be? Do any of your party have mobility issues? Do you have a dog? ...

Re: Water Tanks

Whichever water tank you have - best practice would be to clean with those sterilisation tablets Also, flush some of it through the tap to clean the pipes & tap. Best to also give the end of the pipe a wipe over, with anti-bacterial wipes especially if the water tank and sink haven't been used o...

Re: Aft roof mattress

My mattress came with my van when I bought it. From the thickness, it does seem to be the "proper" one I can put the roof back down easily with it in situ - not tried to do this with the mattress folded, or with the sunroof hatch open... But I'd say close the hatch, and keep the mattress i...

Re: Show us yer insides

Photos can't be uploaded to the forum but need to be linked to and external server. There are some notes in the FAQs but I never worked it out either. Like your Avatar by the way - looks good...... Ah yes, I realised that just after posting this comment - now I need to set up an imgur account (or s...

Re: Figure 8 awning mounts

This looked so interesting, I ordered some from a shop on ebay. It seems to be called a few different names, e.g. Kandor strip Kador Strip - but it does look as though it will be easier & quicker to detach / attach the awning. So I ordered some. As it happens, I ended up with 2 lots of Fig 8 str...

Re: Figure 8 awning mounts

Given the decent fit of Fig 8 strips on the gutter of the Bongo I intend to leave mine in situ over the Summer months, it will also stop wear to paint on guttering from frequent removal and fitting (hopefully) I had thought about that myself. As you say, one fear is the Fig 8 strips might lead to w...

Re: Show us yer insides

I got my van converted by Custom Coach Ltd. Of Caldicot in South Wales The guys did a great job. Really pleased with it PS. I store the table behind the drivers seat when not in use - it usually needs something to hold it in place, like a cushion, otherwise, it will slide out when going around corne...

Re: Welsh Bongo Bash 2017

Who ordered the weather? Ah, if only we could...... :) Actually, as someone who knows the area quite well - it seems that the place can have almost a little "micro-climate" of its' own I've headed out in that direction in "inclement" weather, only to find, as soon as you get to ...

Re: Welsh Bongo Bash 2017

Well I'm hoping to make the next Welsh Bongo Bash. I'm not too far down the road (few hours, traffic allowing) - so this will be my "local bash" in future :) I know Pembrokeshire quite well. I've camped there a lot over the years, and took my Bongo "Blodwyn" there last summer, fo...

Re: Figure 8 awning mounts

The strip allows it to be drive away, without the strip it becomes more difficult to remove without either removing the figure of 8 or unpegging the awning. My preference is to forget the figure of 8 altogether, if your awning allows for a pile to fit in a sleeve at the end then you will find that ...

Re: Hello everyone - new member, and can someone recommend a good mechanic

Thanks for the welcome guys :D I did find the info for A & S Motors in the members area That's the only one listed locally - I suppose I was just hoping there would be a couple, or that someone on here had used A&S and would care to share their experiences.... Anyhow, I'm off to explore the ...

Hello everyone - new member, and can someone recommend a good mechanic

Hello everyone, I've only just joined Bongo Fury. Although I've already been to one meet, and bought my Bongo in the middle of last summer... I don't know why, but joining just seemed to keep slipping my mind - perhaps it's a sign of my age! lol I'm just starting to get to grips with this forum - wh...
