Re: Possible exhaust manifold issue?

Worth checking the manifold bolts again, particularly No 1 stud at the front, it’s not unknown for them to snap but stay rusted in the manifold so it’s still looks o.k. Also look for black sooty streaks.

Re: Non-contact coolant alarm - false alarm?

Don’t be put off from fitting a sensor screw to the tank. 10s of thousand have now been fitted and not a single problem….also the alarms have proved to be extremely reliable over many years..

It only takes 30mins to fit a coolant alarm if you have the tools to hand....
You don’t lose any coolant fitting one of ours..

Re: Should i replace all the hoses?

Do you have a coolant alarm fitted cos that should have given you early warning.

Re: Should i replace all the hoses?

If the tank was empty and you just refilled it you will almost certainly have trapped air in the cylinder head and the result of that can be very bad news. Needs checking out ASAP by a specialist.

Re: Coolant alarm

I think that tank cap should be 0.9, 1.1 on the Rad if your rad is the type that needs a pressure.....

You want the tank to release before the rad.........clean the screw when the alarm takes ages to Turn off when starting.

Re: Overheating??

The temp gauge could be letting you know your system is due a overhaul, if you didn’t have it you could be driving in ignorance thinking all is well until it all goes to rat shit !
