Re: Looking for steel wheels and tyres

Facebook Market place has plenty advertised. Bongospares would probably have some refurbished ones - trust me the steel wheels rust faster than the bongo itself 🤣

Re: What am I missing from the front of my van??

I've seen a few vans with that bit missing. An opportunity for someone with a 3D printer I think.

Re: Mystery warning alarm

Ha ha, if everything else works okay I'd just snip the wire and insulate the feed. Can always re connect if required :D

Re: Mystery warning alarm

Does it make a beep when the door is open and key in ignition or beep in reverse? Could be a short somewhere that’s causing the ‘normal’ beeper to stay on constantly. Alternatively it could be an entirely separate beeper.

Re: Mystery warning alarm

Is the sound constant or a beeping?

Re: The worry of getting a rust bucket is proving too strong.

They are all getting old as Bob says. I think the choice is between pay a higher price at a Bongo specialist or pay a lower price privately and expect some repairs bills in the future. In the end they all rust but most rust is fixable by the Bongo specialists - they’ve had plenty of experience 😁.

Re: E10 Petrol: Have You Used It?

They all drink the fuel, but I’ll forgive it as I love driving the Bongo, it’s my daily runner so the E10 doesn’t hang around in the tank that long.

Re: Air Conditioning

Thanks. Everything working fine at minute but I can see a new A/C Rad being required eventually.

Air Conditioning

Having a brain fuzz, does the engine coolant flow through the a/c radiator in front of the main radiator? I’d assumed the a/c radiator was independent of the engine coolant. As the A/C radiator is just behind the grill it gets all the road salt and mine looks decidedly past it’s best. Would rather n...

Re: E10 Petrol: Have You Used It?

I’ve really not noticed any difference in performance ( well not sure if performance is the right word ) in my 2.0 ltr. As for MPG I don’t calculate it - it’s just flipping expensive.

Re: Italy - Buying a wheel

Have you considered getting a wheel sent out from UK? It will cost but could be easier in long run to get the Bongo home (assuming you’re on tour).

Re: Fiamma F35 Pro + VW T3 brackets - any tips?

Same set up as our Bongo. I cut a small corner out of the front bracket as it looked too close to the sliding door. Just used a hack saw. Ours has been on the van for four years, not fallen off :D Or any signs of rust on the gutter. Enjoy working out how the legs unfold and are replaced :D :D

Re: JAL Mushroom roof with Fiamma F35 Pro awning?

The only problem I can see would be reaching over the F35 to get to the clips that secure your roof. We have an F35 with an after market front hinged pop top. Can take a photo if that helps.

Re: Rear fog light 2000 X reg

I changed the after market dangly one for a Hella flush fit into the rear bumper. Looks nicer in my opinion. Has been on three years and like new inside.
