Re: Daily Titter - content warning! PLEASE POST JOKES HERE :)

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have been admitted into hospital and they are keeping me in.
I have only gone and poisoned myself. What I thought was an onion turned out to be a daffodil bulb. They said I should be out sometime in the spring.

Re: Time to go

Bongo gone now a couple of month ago. A friend bought and has steam cleaned engine, had professional valet inside. What do we miss? 4wd bongo with winter tyres fantastic, go anywhere . Our new VW 2wd with winter tyres not good in hilly areas. Electrics way advanced for a vehicle of that age. Blinds ...

I think we had similar problem once and after taking temp sensor off from behind dash and cleaning it it was a lot better. Sensor was full of fluff and dirt.

Re: Headlights Full beam not working

Hooray back with full beam now. 2 month without in winter not good. Had to replace indicator, headlight stalk unit as all is within one unit. Sourced replacement from bongospares and all working now. For anyone else who has to do this there is a different stalk assembly for airbag and non airbag mod...

Re: Headlights Full beam not working

Tried a few things with headlights. Tried contact cleaner , which worked for a couple of minutes then I think contacts must dry out and full been stops working again. So it looks like it is definitely the contacts on switch but, it looks like all the indicator, headlight switch unit has to be remove...

Re: Headlights Full beam not working

Sprayed wd 40 into stalk contact area and main beam worked for a couple of minutes. Dirty stalk contacts? Or do they need to be replaced. Are they easy to get to and do I have to disassemble them to clean them.

Re: Headlights Full beam not working

By any chance do you have spot lights fitted to come on with main beam? If an extra relay wasn't fitted this could have burned out the contacts in the stalk. And do I read correctly there's also no dipped beam? No spot lights. Dipped beam as normal until headlights flicked forwards to full beam the...

Re: Headlights Full beam not working

Do they come on if you use the 'Flasher' on the stalk? That will give a clue if its the connectors or possibly the relay or the contacts on the stalk. Yes they do come on if using flasher, just when flick stalk forwards. Was intermitant for a couple of times now does now just darkkness when stalk f...

Headlights Full beam not working

Tonight just put headlights on to full beam and all went dark, put back on to dipped and back on again. Intermitant at first stayed on full beam for a while then darkness. Any ideas, could it be a relay ?

Re: Picking up my Bongo tomorrow - am I mad?!

We never regretted getting ours. Had for quite a few years now! Think coolant system check is is one of main firsts, radiator condition, hoses etc. We had water pump replaced early on on oursas a precaution. Reliability has been excellent over the years with trips to France and Many to northern Scot...

Re: Won't start

Well just done 250 miles this weekend with lots of stops and starts and no problems. Was half expecting a no start at some stage.
What was it? Could it have been a fuel blockage? Just hope it's gone for good. Thanks all for suggestions and advice.
