Re: bongo wont start.
In that case is the tachometer / temperature / fuel gauges working as they are powered from the same fuse as the actual warning lights ? I take it that NO warning lights at all come on, or are there any ones that do ? 1997 Page_50 If the indicators don't come on, but they do under the Hazard switch ...

The illumination lights are fed from the Tail, Number & Sidelights circuit which is fed from a relay and fuse. 1997 Page_66 The fuse to look at is the TAIL fuse under the bonnet; http://www.g8dhe.net/bwm/hotspots/x02-tail.jpg When you say NO lights come on do you mean illumination lights or the ...

Re: Central loccking unlocking itself
There are two fuses involved, to stop the doors solenoids themselves this 30 Amp fuse needs to be pulled; http://www.g8dhe.net/bwm/hotspots/x03-5.jpg The other fuse powers the stalk on the steering column, but also many other misc. circuits; http://www.g8dhe.net/bwm/hotspots/x03-8.jpg The circuit is...

Re: Roof light flashing when driving.
They micro switches are single hole fixing aren't they ? I think you might find that there may be some play in the fixing which will affect the exact point that the roof operates it, you will probably find that a little adjustment of the fixing will cure the problem.

Re: dim side/rear lights and blown fuse8
If your before 2000 then this diagram applies; 1997 Page_66 All those lights are switched via the relay, but dim lights and blowing fuses suggests that you have a short somewhere after the relay, have you had any work done recently towbar kit or anything ? Might be worth checking all the lights invo...

Re: Roofrack
Saw an interesting take on that problem the other day, a Towbar hitch that could be telescoped outwards sufficiently far to allow opening the door, not used for when driving of course, but adequate for static use to allow the door to open. Not sure if it was a DIY job or a standard bit but I plan to...

Re: Passenger door card removal
Yup the wires change color in the last loom, so DR1 loom drivers side - Orange & Red/White, then the F loom - Orange & R/W again, then DR2 passenger door - O & R/W then after going thru the passenger switch they become Red and Green, just to add a little spice to life or something

Re: Passenger door card removal
Yes the wiring on the Drivers door and the loom if damaged will affect the passenger door. There are two stock standard faults the door switch itself, and broken wires in the loom, its will almost certainly be one or the other going on past experience. Do you have a multi-meter available ? The two w...

Re: Roofrack
Have to agree with that, its much easier to get at and you can take it off when not needed; http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/DSCF6289.thn.JPG Someone also had one mounted on a bike rack (less the bikes of course) the was a picture in the last few days, that avoids the need for a towbar of course as...
