Re: abnormal 1st to 2nd gear change. 2.0 petrol autobox

thanks merlot, i'll try to track alacrity down and see if thats possible. I do have a gearbox specialist at work and as an employee i get 75% off work and i'd have to track the parts down. But i think i'll try alacrity first. Does anyone know the name of his work and possibly have a number? A...

Re: Blower only works on max

Generally when the blower only works on max it usually is the resistor.
Whatever you do, DO NOT try to repair the resistor as you will most likely cause a fire. Replace only, with a new one if you can

Re: abnormal 1st to 2nd gear change. 2.0 petrol autobox

Thanks for the response brian, I'll give em a bell. I did at first think it was a selection issue, but I'll get more info before deciding what to do  If your doing a big tour round france and like landscape stuff then you should definitely visit Les Voges, franche-comte and jura. Lovely countr...

Re: abnormal 1st to 2nd gear change. 2.0 petrol autobox

It slips when it revs up but its at random, it seems to do these things mostly on incline/decline. Like you pointed out the judder is only occuring between 1st and 2nd. Actually now you mention it the judder occurs twice when its engaging 1st and like you say when going into 2nd its a bit more notic...

Re: MOT all clear

Got an all clear just before the bongo bash, not bad considering we'd just covered 1300km prior to the test, travelling up from mid france to isle o wight then test in salisbury (without the nerve agent)

Re: abonarmal 1st to 2nd gear change. 2.0 petrol autobox

Still haven't solved the issue yet but it doesnt seem to be getting any worse [-o< I was hoping Alacrity may be able to shed some light on this, I have found that the problem occurs more often when pressing the brake at low speeds and if i dont wait a second or two to accelerate, mostly on hills (up...

Re: 3 point seatbelt for middle bench

dont worry bout the slide door as you can take a t-porter from britain with the same side slide door and because it has a european certificate of conformity, no member state is allowed to refuse registration of a vehicle that has already been registered in another member state, as long as the vehicl...

Re: abonarmal 1st to 2nd gear change. 2.0 petrol autobox

let me know how you get on, it sounds worrying if its the valve body, it controls hydraulic fluid flow for proper and smooth gear selection. As far as i am aware if it was that, it would causz a judder on more than one gear, I can report that the judder is becoming less frequent the more the d...

3 point seatbelt for middle bench

Hi, does anyone have a 3 point seatbelt fitted to their middle bench and if so, what kind of seat belt? i.e is it a mazda one or other mark of vehicle. Looking to find out as i need to fit one to try and register the bongo in france. [-o< If anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated and y...

Re: Middle seat rotating mechanism

Hi ade, on your seat/bench the seatbelts that are fitted, are they 3 point seatbelts? I am trying to get my bongo registered in france and they just wont accept the back breaker in the middle of the bench. I got my swivel from northstar conversions but they didnt supply a centre belt as it already h...

Re: abonarmal 1st to 2nd gear change. 2.0 petrol autobox

after the oil change and no hold light flashing, all other gear changes are sound.
I did the full purge with sump removal and filter clean, as i remember the oil smelled normal, just a bit dirty and there was quite a bit of sludge/sediment and the sump magnet had some swarf on it.

Hi bob, hope the rest of the bash went well and it was really nice to meet you and the missus, hope i didnt kill your ears with "its a kind of magic" anyhoo, I was fair chuffed with that and used the sat nav to good effect by finding supermarket fuel stations along most of the route. :wink...
