Is there any chance of a relay from the bongo bash 2011 to the Durham area to take an empty(ish) 901 gas bottle to bully bongo. He lives 7 miles from Durham.

I agree with BDC, another engine and then get this one up and running with a view as a spare or to sell on and get some cash back.

Re: What leisure battery for a newbie?
You really don't want to carry lead acid batteries inside the Van, and given that the Bongo has a spare battery position behind the nearside headlamp it really isn't recommended! You will probably want to move the internal lights and blinds over to a L/B and probably also the Radio so that you don'...

Re: Battery drainer
I have had battery drain issue on another type of vehicle, it was the rear heated screen relay sticking in the on position and draining the battery.
I know that it shouldn't be connected to the leisure battery, but put your hand on the glass to test if it's warm or not.

Re: Glow plug relay
My brother in law works in the motor trade and searched for a cheaper alternative but failed.
I opened up the relay and found that the copper wire had come away from the soldered joint, I resoldered it and it works fine.

What about using a dremel with a small cutting disc and make the groove in the screw head bigger

Re: bob wont start
Check the voltage on the rail, if none then it could be the earth from the glow plug relay If that was so....it should still turn over the engine which it isn't.....check the battery terminals are clean and tight......then check the battery earth cable is tight at the other end. Failing that.....ch...

Re: Sheared glowplug
I wonder if you could arc weld a piece of metal to it, just to get more leverage on it, just an idea, perhaps a silly one.

Re: Sheared glowplug
Could you take it to a local bongo friendly garage and see if they can remove it, without taking the head off. but as above, if you can start it with that old one and three good ones, perhaps leave it for now.
