Point well made, why bother doing it?I thinks its now £30 and 3 points for an illegal plate... after forking out £90 for the small plate on my bike I finally got sick of it and fitted a legal plate

Hi Timster Congratulations on you Bongo adoption and christening. It's worth trying the search facility, type in - Thatcham and imobiliser - that will bring up the threads, then try Google Maps, click 'Find businesses' and put in vehicle alarm fitters or something similar, then your town in the next...

The others are right, there is no 'Grey Area' these plates will be illegal on your Bongo. Regarding 'Show Only' even putting them on your vehicle on a campsite could cause a problem as the Road Traffic Act now applies to all places to which the public has access. As always there is a fly in the ointment, I've a good idea it is illegal to fit more than 2 revesing lights. This wouldn't be a problem if you disconnect the originals, which you could then use a fog lights, then you wouldn't need your retro-fit fog light, which you could use as a reversing light. T...

If the core plug has corroded I would expect it to do so from the inside and at the edge, so this could be your problem. Radweld or similar may get you to the garage but I certainly wouldn't want to chance driving far. The cost of recovery or a tow from a mate could well be less than taking a chance...

First thing to check is that the battery is fully charged, that noise is usualy the solenoid not having enough power to engage, if fully charged check the battery contacts.
