Re: Potential Bongo newbie - best layout for 3 kids?

Hi Mo3, Not sure where your Mid-Whales (see what I did there  ) location is - you can PM me if interested in the following: I am scheduled to be in deepest Snowdonia tomorrow (Saturday) then southern Snowdonia border (Dyfi estuary) on Sunday. I have an old (95-99) diesel with a factory AFT and...

They are great aren't they!

And situated just off the half way point of my trans-pennine (M62) commute, so a nice detour at Saddleworth if there is a log-jam ahead on the way back home. In fact an attractive alternative to a Motorway service station rest stop.

Re: Use of the Marquee

Hi kbg, I'm on reception Sunday morning, so if you make it come and say hello so I can give you a proper thanks for your Scottish suggestions :D Oh, go on then, I will aim to wander over with a bacon and/or egg barm for you. :) We (kbg-quartet) hope to make it down if we can squeeze it into the wee...

Re: Off to Scotland

My general take on this (after much reading and listening, and a little recent experience): Well I think roughly speaking, outside of the Scottish (1/7 to 16/8) and England&Wales (15/7 – 2/9) school holidays you should be OK. Within these times then accessible and popular / trendy places (like S...

Re: From one B-word to another

Oh yeah, how could I forget.... Yes brilliant! These are kbg's favourite (top 3) sources of dry cured bacon when out and about: 1. Roberts TJ and Sons, on Bala high street. 2. Setchfield RP, on East Keswick high street, 3 miles from Wetherby off A1(M). 3. Mettricks, on Glossop high street in the Da...

Re: From one B-word to another

Normal B-words (on a family-friendly forum) would be things like barbecue, bockwürst, bratwürst and burgers. Maybe Bordeaux, Burgundy or Beaujolais if you're into a spot of red and maybe Barcelona, Berlin or Blackburn if you're talking tours. I think the best word I coined was Bongolianism (do a fo...

Re: Roof boxes

Others may want to comment on all this but those are my thoughts. 8) Thanks. Lots of food for thought there. But also a few weeks for me to ponder the roof vs back box options before the main Summer break. Re load on AFT electric motors – I understand you and have similar concerns, so will ponder a...

Hmmmm...new to me...just looked that up....I very much like the look of that - both technically (load spreading / robustness) and aesthetically, and price looks decent too. Thanks.

From one B-word to another

I have been desperately waiting for the last 3 years for a new B-word to come along. The old one is tired and jaded :) Then like the proverbial bus a load of new ones come along at once. OK so, I was wondering, apart from Bill, Ben, and Bob, what are your other favorite Bongo-words on here? And am I...

Re: Roof boxes

Thanks for the extra tips. At 5' 5" I may need two ladders. :)
Funnily enough I need one of these for some attic decoration - so might kill two birds with one stone.
Scarring not nice - I will watch how I drop it.

Re: Use of the Marquee

Meet the Bongonauts is now 8pm to 9pm on Thursday. Do 'Apprentice Bongonauts' get met as well as 'Bongonauts'? :? Or do I just have to post like crazy in the run up? :) And what if they arrive later? Currently twisting arms to try and get the kbg-quartet down for noon Saturday - to - noon Sunday, s...

Re: Bongo heating recommendations!

For twenty five quid you won't go wrong. 8) You sure can't. Nor can you for £14.99 or £17.58 The 0.45kW oil jobbies mentioned by G8dhe are currently on price drop sale at Argos reduced from £25 to £14.99. Just bought one - and used some of the savings to add the £2.59 to extend guarantee to 3 years...
