True. Sealant won't protect you against that. But it will protect from tyre slashers. And nails and glass in the street. I've seen a demo with a stanley knife through the tyre wall. This stuff works OK.

My solution is not to bother about the spare at all (although you have to have one for legal purposes). Use a punture resistant sealant instead. There are 2 brands available, Punctureseal and Ultraseal, and it will cost about £70 to get the Bongo done. No more worry about punctures ever again!

The chassis number is on a metal plate on the passenger door pillar. Bongos/Fredas do not have engine numbers though.
