Re: 85kg nose weight and trials bike

Thanks Helen, that's as I feared. I think the nose weight may be lower at 80kg so it's well into the stress zone.

I'm keen to avoid towing and dragging the bike along will wreck it's tyre and drive train (it's a 1970's trials bike).

85kg nose weight and trials bike

I'd like to use a tow bar mounted motorbike rack to carry my trials bike. The bike weighs 87kg, what's the risk to the bongo due to the 85kg nose weight limit?

Re: Overheat coming home from garage

I think the heads all go eventually, it just takes a stress incident to push them the final bit. I boiled ours in 2006, ran ok until a hose went in 2009 and popped the head. 80,000 miles seems to have been a magic number. Can anyone office advice or the legal issues of bb123 getting recompense from ...

Of course but if the feed to the aftermarket receiver for the remote is picking up power via a good SB but the remaining solenoids are on my knackered LB then they'd be slower?

Re: Central locking odd behaviour

mine does the same actually, only recently though. I have remote locking too (DIY). So when i unlock, drivers door unlocks straight away, before i get the van the others open, but certainly a delay. Nowt to do with opening the door as i haven't touched the door by this point. I wondered if mine was...

Re: Sliding door contact pins seal

I think the switch that determines if it's closed is in the latch mechanism at the rear of the door which is tricky to get to. You could try cleaning the metal contacts as it can't hurt. Cheers Simon, I've done the forward ones but didn't know about a rear one do I'll do that over the weekend. I th...

Re: Rust proofing the rear arches from inside.

if your going to use wax oil make sure all the welding is done, as going back in with a torch after can be a little fraught. spraying into the inner arch runs into the back end of the cills, then forwards along it under braking etc. i prefer to use 3-4 ltrs of clean oil, mix with a tube of good gre...

Ours is a standard factory AFT, the motors failed last year. So worth considering that issue if retro fitting an aft.

Re: leisure battery..

If you're prepared to risk a tight squeeze (though it actually seems no harder to remove/replace than the Numax 110ah i had before), i've had great service from the expensive but quality Energy Bull 135ah battery i plonked in mine several years ago. It's so snug against the inner wing it doesn't ev...
