Re: Going abroad with ONLY the bongo - no trailer etc

We don't take a trailer out of UK. manage to limit kit to essentials. But what is a real boon is a rollout awning - I would say essential. We also have a rain guard that goes between the casset and the Bongo and carry part of a fabric gazebo side which is used for wind protection and with the rain g...

Re: Slashed roof tent, belongings, money and telephone stole

Thanks for the replies. As I am going to push the insurers for this to be done on the policy. I aim to contact the converters /repairers who advertise on this site.

Slashed roof tent, belongings, money and telephone stolen

We were on a campsite in France which was attacked. Nine tents were slashed and lots of electronic gadgets, money and clothing were stolen. Our roof tent was slashed and we lost clothing, a telephone and money. We are insured and have advised the insurance company of the incident. Our real worry is ...

Re: Had any rear arch work done yet?

had no need as yet. This week, preparing to go on our annual European tril found two pin prick sized spots, on the silver. Used kurrust and some touch up paint.
I think the undersealing and waxoiling done when the vehicle hit Dover docks and biannual waxoiling is keeping the terror at bay

Re: recent coolent service

Not sure about the altitude thing. Think you may have to be a bit higher than the Alps. Been over - temperature guage didn't move and coolant alarn didn't go off. Also last year went over the Auverne half day up in low gear and half day down. No problems. Your rad problem reminds me of when I bought...

Great little meet thanks to Manda and Andy, and good to meet the others, especially Ray & Christine and their new companion . Bowled over by Scott's developments. Watch out DBO & BDC  it won't be long before Scott's Bongo comes along with him sleeping in his red bed clutching his...

Re: France in July/August

Suggest you get the Camping Card ACSI book. Lists over 2000 campsites and shows clearly when each goes to low season. Last year we were using them, the low price ones, from mid-August.

Re: Calais to Valtournenche (ItalyAlps)- To toll or not to t

Went to lake Garda with some other Bongoliers. Ferry to Dunkirque (cheap) and then no tolls except Brenner Pass. Don't know about winter although I suspect the continentals are better with snow the the UK. Try missfixit or Freewheeler for the route.
