Re: ROI Bongo travelling to Glastonbury

That's perfect, they certainly look like they're familiar with a bongo and they're located pretty handy to our route. They'll be our contingency plan so, many thanks =D>

ROI Bongo travelling to Glastonbury

Hi there, We're planning our first trip abroad with the Bongo, heading to the Glastonbury festival at the end of the month. We're getting the ferry from ROI to Pembroke and then taking the M4 and M5 by Swansea, Cardif, Bristol and Bridgwater. Bongo should be in good health, we've done over 30,000km ...

Re: Axle Weight

Hi there, there is a specific form that you can fill out to declare the axle weights for the CVRT. Your test centre seems to be making a meal of it. You can download the form here: http://www.rsa.ie/Documents/Vehicle%20Testing/Circulars%20for%20test%20centres/Circular%20VT/2011/Circular_2006_re_LGV_...

Re: Potential Bongo newbie - best layout for 3 kids?

Also, you mention this is your only vehicle - what sort of milage do you do? You can expect 25mpg in a 2.5 diesel bongo, slighly better on extended runs at 50-60mph max. We can fit three adults across either of the seats with no problems but there's no option for a third proper belt that I'm aware o...

Re: No power to radio, central locking, electric mirrors and front interior lights.

Can you test your leisure battery with a multimeter and see what voltage is has? Then at least you'll know if it's charged or not

Re: Rear heater controls

Thanks, I did have a look at that. So Part no. 61-325 is what I have. I can't work out from the diagram where the cables coming out of the front of it connect to?

Rear heater controls

The temperature slider (analogue) rear heater control is missing the mechanical cable connector in our van. The slider is extremely loose and when I last had the side panels off, there was no cable connected at all. Hasn't been an issue up until now with the very warm weather, we have AC on in the f...

Re: Electric vehicles emit more CO2 than diesel vehicles....

EVI did have a look a bit further into the study and it's completely one-sided, comparing the CO2 from the mining and processing etc that goes into the manufacture of the EV battery but not considering the CO2 emitted from exploring for oil, drilling oil, refining oil, shipping oil around the globe ...

Re: Alloy with spare wheel carrier

I'm not sure I follow you? I have plenty of slack in the cable, it's the recepticle that slots through the centre bore of the wheel which will not fit through.
Thanks

Alloy with spare wheel carrier

I've bought a fifth alloy to replace the space saver as I've read numerous accounts of people fitting them in the space underneath so no issues there. My problem is, despite being the correct centre bore, the fitting at the end of the cable will not fit through the centre of the alloy as there is a ...

Re: Removable / moveable kitchen

Not quite the same thing but we've mounted a two ring burner onto the rear of the larger middle-row seat. Seat works as per normal, fold the seat down to use the burner.
You should find some pictures by looking at my posts.

Re: Total cost of ownership

My van costs me about €1,800 per year to run for standard running costs but about half of that is fuel and that only includes routine servicing. On top of that I've had a few additional bills such as for welding, undersealing, droplinks and brake discs and one split coolant hose but in four year's o...
