Really heavy "clunk"

I have started to notice the above. If I put the bongo on full lock and then reverse the is a clunk. When put on full lock the other way and then in forward a much heavier clunk. Can any one give me an idea as to what could be the cause. I try not to put my bongo through it but getting it parked on ...

Re: Automatic box messing around on the Bongo

The gear box on my bongo started being "notchy". I suspected that the transmission fluid might be the issue. My mechanic asked me to get eighty (that's right eighty) Litres of transmission fluid and the set about replacing the same. He removed the sump and the connected the filter (after i...

Re: Electric pedal bikes

Final update!!!(I Hope) after more faffing got the inverter to work with my solar panel. Once I shortened the wires from the solar panel controller box all worked as I had originally intended and expected. I suspect I might be hoping for too much to get a second charger to work at the same time - Bu...

Re: Electric pedal bikes

Thanks again - now I have sorted the issue will consider the options. My diesel tank sits where the leisure battery goes (ideal for starting and finishing journeys) and my 70p per litre cooking oil goes into main tank. Thank you Mr. Tesco. And I get the points too.

Re: Electric pedal bikes

Success! The inverter does not now bleep if plugged into the cigar plug and the engine is running. Difference - I reduced the length of the input wires to the inverter to 10 inches. It made all the difference. I will now make up some short wires to see if that resolves the issue with the solar side ...

Re: Electric pedal bikes

So..... It looks like that "answer" to my issue is a non starter. Back to the drawing board. My 500 watt inverter does not seem to have the power to force the charger into putting enough electricity into the e bike batteries but will a bigger inverter do this without the bleeps, which occu...

Re: Electric pedal bikes

Reserecting this 'cos I need some info. Wifey needed more power to have more FUN! So I bought a "wheelchair tractor", which put a big grin on her face. For those not in the know, these are like the front end of an ebike that clamps on to a wheelchair and in effect changes it to a trike wit...

Re: Rev counter issue and cold start

The matters that you raise are exactly the situation I have with my bongo. It has been like that for at least 4 years with no sign of getting worse. My mechanic suggested that the sensor had given up the ghost, until I told him that after 5 mins it worked fine, so that rules out the sensor so he tho...

Re: How wide are the various sleeping areas?

As my wife and I are on the large size we have over 11 years of ownership tried various ways of comfortable sleeping arrangements. Ours is an old style bongo with flip up rear seats. We settled for using the rear seats, and removing the middle seats and replacing them with a metal framed wood stool ...

Re: Save our local shops.....and Bongo Fury

I appreciate the comments. My bongo is doing quite well on cooking oil and so I am using less diesel. I run a 23 year old vehicle because the manufacture of a car is the most polluting aspect of having a vehicle. I have just bought an e bike to do my local shopping. I am questioning every aspect of ...
