Re: Advice on sprucing up
Keep meaning to post update, the transformation is mostly done bar front seats.. I know it won't be for everyone but I am really pleased with the result. Wheels are from Kia Sportage, 215/70/16, in an ideal world would have lowered but its not practical, so in lieu of that I like the way they fill ...

Re: First big successful trip!
It's embarrassing but also amusing and bizarre, so worth telling 😁.. We had not long bought it and to cut a long story short I thought it was 4wd but it wasn't. No one had misled me, somehow I just had it in my head. Anyway, loved the idea of parking on the beach and going for a swim. Found a track...

Re: First big successful trip!
Fantastic pics! And 2000km under your belt is very reassuring... Done parts of the wild Atlantic way a few times in ours.. My profile pic is us getting rescued on Fermoyle Beach just past Dingle.. Was that the ferry to kerry you were on? 😊 I knew I recognised that beach  . In fact, our second...

Re: Wanting to buy - general advice
Welcome! Just keep an eye on the usual stuff really. The Bongo is a fairly simple machine, apart from the coolant system on the 2.5td and V6 versions (these need to be bled properly if coolant is disturbed). The dashboard temp gauge should sit at 11 O clock if it moves any further shut the engine do...

First big successful trip!
Got home yesterday after covering 2000km of Ireland in our 1997 2.5td Bongo. I was worried about a possible exhaust manifold leak so had the manifold and gasket replaced before the trip but the low-pitched hiss sound under load remained with us, although we were never down on power so the turbo was ...

Aww.
Well, it's better to have loved and lost etc etc...
The Berlingo sounds like a cool little thing, easier to get parts for too I imagine!

Re: Wastegate Actuator Stuck Open
it should move quite easily frank, the manual gives details as follows. put in adjustable air supply, remove pipe from bottom end of turbo, (starting low) to a max of 112-121 kpa, (just over 1 bar) actuator rod should move. do not over pressure as it will damage diaphragm. i wouldnt spin it though ...

Re: Possible exhaust manifold issue?
Well, got the van back with the new exhaust manifold fitted and a new gasket. New studs fitted although the original ones came out without too much of a fight according to the mechanic. Unfortunately, the whooshing sound is still there under load over 2000rpm (if not under load it's fine). Thing is,...

Re: Aircon Tensioner Bolt
Mazda dealer wanted €30 for a new bolt.
I had to pay it in the end.
Robbery.

Reckon Geoff is right there. Dash is probably getting false info on most things although the speedo doesn't sound too bad.

Re: Possible exhaust manifold issue?
Managed to source new studs so will be asking for those to be put on. Mechanic has the gaskets needed so just waiting on a free slot that he can do it all for me. I've been drowning the old studs in penetrant spray to, hopefully, make the job a little easier for him. I've not been driving it because...

Re: Sony XAV-AX1000
Never had an issue with imgbb.com myself, I always use it for photos here. I suppose, just make sure you're using the genuine site www.imgbb.com and copy over the right link from your photos. When you want to link to a picture you've uploaded to Imgbb.com, look for "embed codes" on the ima...

Re: Sony XAV-AX1000
Welcome! Just on images, I use img.bb and post pictures here from that. Works fine, just copy in the bb code to the post (so it has IMG on each side of the image address) and it'll show up. As for the double din unit. I'm interested in this myself, looking at a really cheap one at the moment but I o...
