Re: Speedo records higher mileage

Hi, 1996 Hightop 2.5 Had it for 5 years and as far as I know a speedo conversion was fitted when imported by dealer I bought it from. The indicated speed is OK when compared to my wife driving ahead of me at a steady pre-agreed speed.. they both indicate the same speed in mph. The problem is that t...

Re: Temperature shoots up HELP!!!!

Thoughts are a lazy stat (why did you change it), or not bled quite right. I'm in the throes of the same prob at the moment, but my meter is "undamped", and more sensitive to a few degrees change. As Kirsty says, I'd be wary of using until sorted. SD Hi, How is your temp gauge undampened....

Have you tested the hold button (switch).

There is also a possibility that the ECU has gone into limp mode.

I'm sure some one on here will be able to tell you how to access the code function.

Re: coolant flow - (follow up to cooling diagram)

Not the rad fan Mike, they blow up against the back of the radiator when running .. The second rad fan happens with the air con? Do they come on when the vehicle's moving?? It would be cool to have a wind turbine that pops up through the sun roof on my tintop... I can hear the NOMBS objectio...

Re: Hold button

Unless i'm missing something obvious (as usual) all the hold button does is drop it down a gear which i can do by moving the gear selector. So to stop me accidentley pressing it while cruising at 65, which i would imagine is noisy and expensive, i was going to disconnect it and use it as an overrid...

Hi,
You should hear Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep when you start the engine.

Hi Stevie,
I would get the system checked out by a auto electrician before you fit a new alternator.

(owing to the fact that its/or has been blowing fuses)

Re: Why fit a Coolant Alarm?

Thanks for that info, Rita. When it stops raining I will have a look. Needn't have wasted a quid on that fireguard. I'm now curious about the aircon rad. Probably helps keep the flies out of the main rad as well! Aircon something I can happily live without. I love having the window down most of the...

[quote="Diplomat"]I am surprised that nobody (until now) has mentioned the very real possibilty of road debris causing catastrophic damage to the radiator. The matrix is quite visible and exposed through several large apertures in the nonexistent front grille. Having had a sharp object thr...

Re: Fog Lights

I think it is a legal requirement for all "fog" lights to be fitted with a telltale to let you know when they are on. I'd have thought so too, but mine doesn't have a tell-tale for the front fogs (factory fitted - I think) & no problems with MOT's yet...... No probs with our MOT pass ...
