Re: Help needed - turbo help please (diesel engine)

If you're pretty accurate and have really good drill bits it can be drilled and re tapped in situ but that won't get round the problem that the manifold is almost certainly warped at either end. my advice would be to remove manifold and turbo put a straight edge along the manifold to see if it's war...

Re: Engine knock when cold.

I think if it's an oil circulation problem which seems to have gone with the warmer weather, I'm sorry to be a harbinger of doom but you may find the knock will come back when the van has been running for a while maybe an hour. if its a big end knock that has now gone because the metal has not contr...

Well done. Add this to your oil change schedule and check over and you should only ever see that light on again on the self check start up process. =D> =D>

Re: Replace 2.5 head cylinders in 3 years & a paint job (Long post)

Hm.. lots of problems there for you. Couple of things I'd suggest having replaced my head and head gasket twice since ownership in October. When you replace the head always, always use new head bolts. Really important as they are stretch bolts and only stretch once. Cleanliness is next to Bongliness...

Re: Sediment light but no other lights-mystery?

Yes following on from Geoff, from above you'll need to lift the drivers seat and you'll see the large black canister for the air filter. to the rear of that and bolted to the main chassis is the filter in question. it will have two fuel lines one leading backwards towards the rear of the van going i...

Re: Sediment light but no other lights-mystery?

Geoff and Bob, I've only done this when changing the filter. when you unscrew the big white plastic screw the initial stuff that comes out is water isn't? I'm thinking that if the OP leaves it too long it will drain out the entire filter or will it stop draining once the float drops back down?

Re: Sediment light but no other lights-mystery?

Can be done without any raising gear but suggest you were goggles first time so you don't get water/diesel in your eyes. Once you've done it and understand it you'll be able to reach the screw from above and only get your feet wet :D :D :D

Re: Engine Trays

It's a 1996 2.5 TD 4WD. It does look as though there are three two under the engine and scavenger fan and another from the front bumper going backwards to protect the rad and intercooler. The breaker guy is having a look round. the one he took them off of I assume has gone to the big Bongo in the sk...

Re: Engine Trays

Which engine version is your vehicle ? They all have the front section 56-113 and the versions are as below; http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/under_trays.jpg Hi Geoff, I've had delivered the 112 and 111 but not the small front one which i think is 113 so you're saying that all variants should have...

Engine Trays

Hi Guys, I ordered the engine trays from a breakers up north and they arrived today but only 2 I've had a look at the diagram and can see that the parts are 56-113, 56-112 and 56-111. I have the last 2 but not the forwardmost one of them 56-113. Just wondering if there are three or are there some th...

Re: MOT failed - Wondering what this will cost me :-(

when you have a good look a that it's really all to do with welding so take it along to somebody who knows what they are doing for a good quote. there is a list of Bongo Friendly's on here. The rest of it is basically just adjustments and parts that you can fit yourself. I guess the deciding factor ...

Re: Steering Wheel Wobble

When I first got mine in October first job on the list was a set of new tyres giving me a chance to have a proper look around whilst the rims were off. the tyre guy could not get the rear wheels off and took a club hammer to the inside of the rims for a few whacks then stopped gave it a good dosing ...
