Re: Identify Pipe help

I'm fairly certain they are to do with the cold start but certain that none of those small hoses contain coolant. it will either be fuel or a vacuum pipe. Hoses containing coolant will have hose clips on to keep them from blowing off under hot coolant pressure. vacuum hoses don't use clips. low pres...

Re: Will these wheels fit?

Speedo accuracy... with a Bongo?? the only thing I can add to the pot would be to say that if you have an AWD then all 4 tyres need to have the same rolling circumference to prevent damage to the diffs

Re: Identify Pipe help

Hi, nope the only coolant pipes on that side of the engine are the ones you've already identified. is it possible that the large coolant hose forward of these has a pin hole allowing coolant to spray onto the diesel pipes?

Re: Whats the deal with the rear vent?

I've recently had the two rear panels out of my 96 TD and those vents are adjacent to vents in the double skin above the wheel arches. As Geoff says above they are ventilation vents and are also designed to equalise the pressure in the van. I think if you cover them up you'll get some odd things hap...

Re: Identify Pipe help

I think you'll find that they are diesel return pipes going into the rear of the pump and underneath the pump. I think they are to do with the cold start device. you should be able to trace them up to the inlet manifold and one of the 4 solenoids if memory serves me correctly

Re: AFT color

Thanks for that, I may have found a solution a vinyl sign maker near me can do me a strip of any block colour I choose to go along the side of the AFT to cover the scars. I'll let you know how that goes.

Re: AFT color

Hi , did you manage to find the correct colour only I'm also in the same boat as of this afternoon. I've tried to remove the decals as I have been bought some new ones. I tried everything that is stated in other postings and eventually resorted to the toffee wheel which just went straight through th...

Re: 2.5 litre petrol/Lpg turning over but won't start

Could you pull out the plugs and see if any are wet? it maybe that if the head gasket has blown one or more cylinders could be pulling in water. I'd still say get a compression test done to see if any of the cylinders are below the others. I'm guessing that the engine is spinning over quicker than n...

Re: 2.5 litre petrol/Lpg turning over but won't start

Do you have any warning systems in place? low coolant alarm or digital temperature gauge? if you have found a hole in a hose I'd maybe suggest that it has lost it's coolant resulting in a possible head gasket blown. I'm sure you've read here that these engines do not tolerate low coolant for any dis...

Re: Coolant Alarm going off!!

Hi, Sounds as though we have very similar set ups. my version has two screws in the expansion tank. could it be that your screw is too high in the tank and so when you corner the screw is coming out of the coolant? could it also be that the screw has corroded over time and now needs replacing?

Re: Bongo v6 wont start when it rains

Sounds like a bad case of damp. have you checked leads, coil etc for tracking or arcing? a good dose of WD40 all over the electrics may help.

Re: Washer bottle

It depends if you have a leisure battery in front of it I guess. I don't and it was quite a straight forward job to unbolt it and remove it. Main thing to realise is that there are two motors one you can see easily the other is right down the bottom of the bottle. The lower one is the one for the wi...

Re: Exhaust manifold is off! YAY!

Donnie, have you checked that the manifold is not warped, very common for them to bend outwards towards the two end bolt holes? You look to be ok as there is no obvious sooting at either end from what I can see. of course if you get it skimmed you won't need to clean it :D :D
