Re: exhaust winter switch valve thingy- working or not ?

They don't all have one but are commonly on the 'cold climate' twin battery (as standard) bongos/fredas. If yours has it you'll have a switch (with an engine picture) by your right knee. The switch illuminates in the 'on' position.

Re: Cooling system

Incidently there is masses of information on this forum about cooling problems, though not yet collated in one place.
A fair bit of the info about cooling problems has been collated HERE IN FAQ's... worth reading before you consider modifying the system. :)

Re: Switch and wheels.

It has a picture on it like an engine with a propellor on top??!!
As mister munkey said, you have the cold climate (twin batteries) bongo and this switch activates the engine 'rapid warm-up' as described.

Re: cooling fan

If only a few minutes, heat would build up in the engine compartment and the scavenger fan cut in. Yes ours does that and it is absolutely fine (now  ). It's designed to 'scavenge' for excess heat, and this can build up in the situation you describe. But it shouldn't be running frequently, as...

Re: Help! My engine won't switch off

Be v. careful though as the suction on there is scary. A firm bit of plywood slapped over it or somesuch might do it. If anyone techie thinks the above advice is duff then shout now please!!! I just asked Al and he said it's good in theory and he has tried it, but it didn't work. That's because the...

Re: Gearchange.

I hope it's nothing more serious than low or dirty fluid. That said, you don't really want to drive with the fluid level low, so you could at least check the level while you're on holiday, and then top it up if it's low. :) It could save trouble and money in the long run. The dipstick for the gearbo...

Re: Bongo running hot! Help please.

I noticed that in a previous post, you said you'd put K Seal in the bongo: Hi All, Would really like your thoughts on this one. I recently added a can of K seal to the water system on my Bongo. I did it as a preventetive measure as it says that it stays in the system and blocks holes that appear in ...

Re: Rear Door Rubber Seal.

A new seal is usually pretty expensive for what it is. You may be able to repair yours as you suggest. Or have a look for a universal door seal which you can buy in pre cut lengths, you may be able to find one with the same profile.

Re: Side Window Bolts

The one that commonly falls off is the one on the outside of the side window behind the driver (and opposite the sliding door). Ours did this on the motorway and we had to temporarily tie the window shut... we had to improvise with the camera strap and dog lead. 8)

I've also replied to your pm. :)
Mazda main dealer will be able to supply the bolts. On their diagram it will show all the head bolts... you need the 2 small ones (12ml heads) at the front of the head. (The other bolts shown on the diagram will be the larger head bolts).
