Re: Driving in France - Definitive List of Requirements

Also interested as I'm going to Belgium via Dunkirk so will have a 9 trip to the border on French soil - and we all know about Sod's Law!
Are the laws similar for Belgium too?

Re: 33% off Forestry Commission Campsites for early bookers

Thought I'd 'bump' this in case anyone missed it as it ends tomorrow.
I booked 2 nights in the New Forest in June for £33.
Yes it's grass (standard) pitches only but I had no restriction on using my Bongo.

Re: Breakdown cover for the over sixteens

I've got a standard Direct Line (Green Flag re badged) recovery policy and am going over to Belgium in August in my N reg Bongo. Had a read of the small print and looks like in the UK I'm covered but abroad 16 years+ isnt :( Can you buy cover for just the time abroad? Are other providers better for ...

I can't recommend it as I've yet to stay there but this is another site close to Bourton;

Might be worth looking up too! :)

Re: Memory foam roof mattress cut to size?

This is where I bought my topper, cut to shape: http://www.1stforcomfort.co.uk/#index=tab-1 When I rang it sounded like they'd done quite a few for bongo's in the past. Aha, that's the sort of thing I'm looking for. Do you mind me asking how much it was to have it cut to order? I can find 2" d...

Memory foam roof mattress cut to size?

A good while ago I remember reading about a helpful company who would supply memory foam to replace the roof mattress but sent it pre-cut to allow for the trap. Quite a few members used them but doing a search of the forums I'm not able to find reference to them. The one mention i did find pointed t...

Re: internet on the go (again!)

Something to be aware of is the MiFi will be locked to 3 Mobile so you can't just put any sim card in it.
Unless you get it unlocked of course. I got my old MiFi unlocked via an online/ebay dealer for around £12.

Re: Quick up/down awning

Quechua base for me (got both seconds and full) - doesnt attach no, but the dimensions mean its almost as good as. Up and down so quickly too.
Use both linked when camping and have been know to attach a Seconds 3 man tent too. Ultimate flexibility - very happy :)

Re: petrol guage / fuel gauge

Well done everybody and thanks for all the help. I did the magic earth, this didn't work. I took the sender unit out and cleand it, that didn't work. Thought about buying a new one (£178 del.), too much so that didn't work. Thought about second hand one (£80 del). Far too much so that didn't work. ...

Re: Fuel tank sender unit

Sorry to hijack this tread but I need to do the same procedure on my van at the weekend (fingers crossed it's as simple a solution as this one). Looking to buy some ring terminals off eBay for making up the wire while at work but without getting under the van I'm unsure as to what size to get - any ...

Re: Summer of disappointment pt 2 - Starter motor problems?

Okay, bit of an update: Starting great still, first time every time. Better than my more modern cars really lol Bad news is it overheated again :-( very disappointed given the money already spent on 'fixing' that. Had Simon from Contract Mechanics over today to take a look and his experienced verdic...
