Wired up the switch on the red wire and it works well. actually that's not entirely true. it worked fine with the radio on my lap in the passenger seat and then when I shoved it into the dash it lost power each time. Am part way through an installation of a Beat600 double din TV/DVD/Radio etc thing. My radio is powered from the leisure battery so that the radio can be played whilst the engine is off etc. However, the BEAT600 doesn't have the facility to switch off fully. is this the pedantry corner! clearly the "tyre rating" (usually a single letter depicting max speed rating) and the "width" (in mm) are different and not to be confused.
I think most would prefer width over speed anyway.

I'm going for the 215 for my spare! for 2 reasons: 1: I'd much rather have a spare over-rated tyre than an under-rated tyre. 2: you are much, much more likely to get a rear puncture because nails etc are flipped up by the front tyres. however, + if you live in somewhere like milton keynes. get a fro...
