Re: My Leisure Battery Tray is too small :-( Replacement hel

Leave it on trickle charge, we just plug our vehicle in at home every few days or if we know we aren't going to use it for a few days.

Re: Could I run these appliances from an inverter?

A generator is a much better idea for long term use, but start by finding out just how much power and energy you really need, what the "Peak" load is likely to be and how long you need the average power for. Also investigate what 12 volt devices you can find rather than 230v mains devices,...

Re: Could I run these appliances from an inverter?

The large inverters 2000W (2KW) are really intended to run off static batteries rather than automotive batteries, they don't make it clear that the current being drawn is massive 2000/12=167 Amps, try to run it from a normal starter battery you would be talking of only a few minutes operation, also ...

Re: Could I run these appliances from an inverter?

Yes you can in theory BUT ..... First the Juicer, the average will be 160 Watts but the starting current may well be a LOT higher, even the 160 Watts is quite a significant draw, it means that you will be drawing something like 14 Amps from the battery, which means a direct connection to the battery...

Re: Bongo Campervan Wifi

Yes it was a missed point!
However our experience of on-site WiFi is that the signals are invariably poor (yes external aerial helps) but the main problem is congestion with 10-40 units all trying to use the same bandwidth during the evening periods!

Re: V6 new tyres 215's all round

Provided you have 215's on the rear I can't see how it can affect the speedo ? Its the rear wheels that are driven and the speedo signal is derived from the gearbox output shaft to the rear wheels.

Yup 215's all round here and has been for several years now, in fact we popped in this morning and ordered 2 more for the front as they are now showing wear so new ones will be fitted tomorrow!

Re: sediment/charge light again!!

Isn't the alternator itself the LR190-731 ?
and the regulator within it is the L190 G6340 ?
See http://www.woodauto.com/Unit.aspx?Man=H ... =LR190731B

Doesn't help locate one however!

Re: Bongo Campervan Wifi

A simple MiFi (Mobile WiFi) works very well, provided you have a SIM which works in the locations you need. We have a Huawei E5830 turned on and logged in permanently (doesn't cost anything to be switched on and logged in as charging is on traffic levels) in the AFT, its cabled using the USB to the ...

Re: Tiny metal flakes in coolant

No its not the same, the 2l petrol doesn't have the bleed tube, it feeds directly back into the tank, and seemingly doesn't have the same problems as the Diesel does, even the 2.5l petrol doesn't seem to suffer as badly as the diesel.

It also supplies the Radio, Mirrors and Demister.
The cigar lighters can also have a fuse mounted between the connectors on the rear of them see here http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 95#p230795
