Re: Front heater linkages

Aha! fount the culprit: 61-C35! The cable was twisted back on itself, and frayed, so it could not travel the required length to open up the requisite damper! http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/a538/llitvack/IMG_00000134_zps0bd59446.jpeg http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/a538/llitvack/IMG_00000135...

Re: Front heater linkages

I wonder if I should also lubricate all the pivots for the flaps which direct the air flow in various directions? This might well take the strain off that cable, allowing it to travel more freely? If I remove the white disk/cam by unscrewing it, would I have easy access to them?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Front heater linkages

Okay -- I'm now at the stage of trying to get the manual heater control panel out of the dash. After popping the unit using the four car stereo holes, the unit won't come away easily. This seems to be because of the three cables holding it in: 61-C35, 61-C25, and 61-C45 (see Lushprojects diagram). D...

Re: Front heater linkages

Hi Ady. The problem seems to be in the way the steel cable pushes (rather than pulls) through its housing. It essentially works like a brake cable on a bike, yes? The cable moves, while the housing stays stationary. Perhaps the cable needs to be lubricated; I'll check tomorrow how it moves through t...

Re: Coolant again

I wouldn't wish to alarm you; but I had similar symptoms (with coolant pouring out the header tank), and it ended up being a cracked head! Now, with a new one installed, the van runs very well, and the coolant level is rock solid!
I hope it's not the head! It may well not be!

Re: Faulty Headlights

Has anyone retrofitted HID headlamps either to a Bongo or a car?

Re: Faulty Headlights

Since someone mentioned LED H4s, I wondered if LED headlamps are viable? It seems the answer is no; but I wonder if anyone has HID headlamps fitted to a Bongo?

Re: Rod to remove spare tire

Hi folks.
Two quick questions about the toolkit:
1. What is the purpose of the two rectangular plates with holes drilled in the middle?
2. How do you raise the scissor jack? What do you use as a handle to turn the screw and raise the jack?

Cheers from Leon

Re: Bongos hired in Ireland maybe on tv

Well, a lovely weekend was had by all. The weather cooperated, and the campsite (The Shepherd's Rest) was terrific. The footage they shot will form a portion of a three-part series, presented by Michael Smiley, who likes a bit of cycling and a bit of camping! Michael is also looking to purchase a Bo...
