Leisure battery not holding charge

Hi folks. I'm not using the van that much at the moment, but went for a run of about one and a half hours yesterday. My Nasa Marine battery monitor ( http://www.nasamarine.com/proddetail.php?prod=BMN-1_Battery ) tells me that the battery charged at 14.1 volts with the Bongo running. This morning, ho...

Re: Bongo Required for Film Company

All went very well with the hire, and the van was returned washed and valeted. The production company was a pleasure to deal with. They offered to do a service beforehand. Luckily nothing needed done; in any case the Mazda dealer to whom it went wouldn't have known how to service it. The programme w...

Re: Bongo Required for Film Company

Hi folks. The company is going to hire my Bongo again. As Simon has said, I did have a good experience last time, so here's hoping the same will be true again. From what the producer explained to me, it seems that the Bongo will feature more heavily than it did in the last programme. Good wishes fro...

Bongo on TV, 21 March

Hi folks. This relates to the locked topic http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=63065 in which my Bongo was going to be featured in a 3-part special: http://www.televisual.com/news-detail/Green-Inc-to-film-Michael-Smiley-cycling-for-BBC-N-Ireland_nid-3311.html Just got thi...

Re: Soundproofing?

I can endorse the recommendation of bitumen. It really works! You need to cut the sheets to size; they are self-adhesive, and I found that with a hair dryer you can mould them to the contours of the inside of the bodywork (I think this would be especially important in our cold winter weather). The d...

Re: Starter Battery size

Och Simon -- wish I had known earlier!
I spent £102 including VAT at Euro Car parts, after discount!
Ah well: we should be thankful for what we have, yes?

Re: Rear drop link bolts?

Thanks winchman. Under ordinary circumstances I would do just that; but in this case I can't get the bolts off ahead of time. The reason is that my mechanic friend tried to get the bolts off when he had the van up on his hydraulic lift, but can't because they are seized. He needs to break them off. ...

Re: Starter Battery size

Hi folks. I just replaced my starter battery with a Bosch S4 335; it works a treat! When I removed the old battery, I found that the starter battery tray was highly corroded. I wonder if anyone knows where to source a new starter battery tray, either in metal, or in fibreglass like the Willinton one...

Re: Rear drop link bolts?

Hi folks.
Do these need to be high-tensile bolts?
What length are they?

Cheers from Leon

Re: Front fog lights

Hi folks. Does anyone know what sort of bulb is required for these front fog lights? I was thinking of replacing the existing ones with something brighter. There is a helpful list of Bongo bulbs at at http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=50219 but the front fog lights are ...

Re: Regassed AFT Struts

I wonder if anyone knows how to remove the INNER gas struts for the roof? By this I mean the struts that support the rigid inner liner with the hatch in the middle, on which you can sleep in the AFT. I wanted to have mine re-gassed. I can speak well of SGS Engineering (referred to above in this thre...

Sorry: I now DON'T have a source for this cable.

Re: Front heater linkages

Hi Mike. Thanks for the suggestion. I suppose that I could cut off the existing nipple and use a solderless one, clamped above the hole in the lever; is that what you meant? But then the cable end wouldn't bend at right angles like the original Bongo one. The advantage of the original is that it off...
